Is this for Gordon College in Barnesville, GA? I am waiting anxiously to hear from them as well... Please let me know if you hear anything, and good luck!
Hi Chelseajo21, we are both on two seperate threads now! Yes this is for Gordon, in B'ville. And I also am sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear something. My hope is that they mail them out this Friday, and we will know by next Monday or Tuesday. I wonder if the opening of the new Allied Health building(this friday) is delaying the selection process, and if by the new building being ready they are able to accept more students into the program? Guess we will know soon enough! Good Luck to everyone.
I hope they mail them out soon! I called last week and Mrs. O'Baner said they would be mailed out in the middle of April, but I'm not sure if I believe what she says, lol. I have tried calling twice today, and no one in the nursing dept. is answering
Chelseajo21, thanks for the info, but I am with you about not being sure if I believe the middle of April. I sure wish they would send them out today... like now. I have a special needs child and I need to let her home Nurse know what my schedule is going to be over the summer. The letter determines if I take classes over the summer or wait till fall...so I could really use a decision, good or bad! Pray with me that she was wrong. Who is she anyway. Is she the lady to the left when you go in Smith Hall or the one to the right?

Hey all!
I applied for the Fall 2011 program at Gordon as well. Have not heard anything as of yet! On pins and needles waiting!
Im going to give you guys my stats and see what you guys think as far as acceptance/denial:
-Current Gordon student- all prereq's complete except 2- which will be done by summer.
-Former PN program student at Lanier Tech (dropped halfway through due to personal/family issues)
-CNA for 5 years, currently certified
-GPA is between 2.8-3.2 (Not sure, it depends how they calculate GPAS- if they use my other schools GPAs and Gordons or just Gordons)
-TEAS V score of 89
Just want to get a feel for this programs make/cut list, as I transferred here in the fall and am not familiar with this school, this program and the people in it...
Thanks :)
Your stats sound great MK126995, but from previous threads I would say there ecceptance is competitive and all over the place. you just never really know what makes them choose one and not the other, and they give no hints as to who or why. I think you have just a good a chance as any one else.

I started in January of 2011. The program is tough, but doable, I am doing well in all my classes, and clinicals are blast. I can work part time 20 hours a week just fine, so no matter what they say at Camp I Can, working is just fine. Any more then that though, and I think it would be tough.
I know two people very well who started in the Fall of 2010. I was speaking with them and they got their acceptance letters in mid April of 2010. So, I think that is a very accurate time frame for the letter to go out.
@ MK126995- Your stats sound good, so I think you will have a fair chance. I did both my A&P's last summer, and did Micro, HIS 2112, and Art 1101 in the fall for my last three classes and I go in just fine without my final grades tallied in. However when I applied to the program mine was 3.3, and after the fall it went up to 3.56. They do weigh your GPA with other colleges classes, so calculate it on that.
I wish you all the best of luck. Mrs. Helvig and Mrs. Handwerker are amazing, you will love them dearly.
Hi sowhat, if you don't mind me asking, what was you teas score, and which version did you take?
@sowhat105
Thank you so much for shareing the info. I don't think that I am worried at all about the program itself, although I know it will be tough. My only concern is that I am a transfer student. How many people have you met or heard of being transfer students. My husband tells me not to worry that God has his hands on this and his will shall be done no matter what. I know that but can't help but wonder how many if any transfer students they usually accept.
I took the TEAS 4 back in July of last year, and I scored a 84, I think the min score then was 67.
I don't know any transfer students in the program. A lot of people myself included transferred some credits from other colleges, but most of us did at least a few pre reqs from Gordon.
