Good source of delegation ?'s ???

The only advice I can offer is what we just learned in Kaplan. When it comes to delegation, an RN can never delegate teaching or assessment and a CNA can only do "standard, unchanging procedures" like AM care. The main thing they taught us is that the nurse can never delegate assessment or teaching. Hope this helps.

I just came back from taking the test. I didn't have one question about delegation! I also had just 75 questions, and know for sure that I will be returning to take the test again. Good luck to you.

Don't worry now if so soon to predict, many people say the same when they finish, could you share some stuff that you faced in your exam, tips so on, I am a retaker, taking kaplan starting this saturday in Ny.

If kaplan taught you the above, they are teaching you to fail:uhoh21: An RN does delegate,teach and assess. A LPN and a CNA can not. Only stable patients goes to the LPN and CNA.

my friend just took boards in nevada and passed she said her was delagation and pharmacology.. i am waiting to take my boards.... i get mixed up easliy on prioritizing... i always narrow it down to 2 patients ,, do the ABC and most of the time the patients don't fit that critera.. then what do i do...??? any suggestions?

i think what ckh23 meant was that an RN cannot delegate a patient/client that requires teaching and or assessment. Unlike Saunders, Kaplan has a lot of delegation and priority questions so that's the only advice i can give ya.

I have been using a book called "Prioritization, Delegation & Assignment"(ISBN# 139780323044073). I take my boards tomorrow and all the questions in the book are on prioritizing and delegation. I did the whole book. I am thinking it is a must have for the NCLEX-RN boards but I will let you know after tmorrow.

You can get it on Amazon for about $25 new....I will be selling mine IF I pass tomorrow (will know on Monday), probably for $17.

I second this, everyone should complete this book before nclex - well worth the money!

I took the NCLEX-RN today & used the Prioritization, Delegation & Assignment by Mosby's (this same book) & though it gave useful info

about Delegation & Assignments I did not get any questions like these. Just a few prioritization quest. So anyone interested in buying the book, do like I did...go to Barnes & Nobles read it there or buy it & return it w/in 14days, thus saving some money! Especially if your a financially struggling graduate nurse .

Yeah mrod, it really didn't matter that I completed the questions in the book...well the case studies (part 3) seemed more beneficial than part 1&2 for the exam...at least in my opinion. Let me know what you think of this book in relation to the nclex. Good luck tomorrow!!! You'll do fine!
