I am trying to prepare for NCLEX, and I am hearing that delegation is a large focus right now. Mosby CAT doesn't cover it at all. I have Saunder's and Mosby books and CD's. Is there any other source specifically for delegation type questions? After using my CD's a few times, there isn't a challenge to figure out the answers!

I think the book did help because it was the only book that really focused on Prioritizing and Delegation as one unit and continous. The questions I got on NCLEX today were not exactly what was in this book but doing the book helped me answer those type of questions. The book made me go over ABC, Maslow's, safety, thinking of the most important patho, etc. that I was able to apply when answering NCLEX today.
Everyone has there own opinion on what review course, what CD's, what book is like the NCLEX. What I say is, it is not the book or CD you will find that is "like" the NCLEX, it is the book that works for you to help you answer the questions correctly and train your brain to thinking the NCLEX way.
Do I think I passed? No of course not. Do I think I failed? Probably not....this is tough sitting here waiting but I did the best I could, I really did.
On an end note- Buy the book, it seemed to help me

Hey mrod,
You're right about getting what works for you...I didnt
buy the book, I just looked over the first two parts. I
took the nclex on June 21, had 75 questions & finished
in
make a difference to me (glad I saved my $$). My nsg school really prepared me for the nclex:monkeydance::monkeydance:.
If kaplan taught you the above, they are teaching you to fail:uhoh21: An RN does delegate, teach and assess. A LPN and a CNA can not. Only stable patients goes to the LPN and CNA.
I beg to differ, Its been drilled in our heads that we cannot delegate the nursing process. Teaching and assessing is part of the nursing process and cannot be delegated by an RN.
I have been using a book called "Prioritization, Delegation & Assignment"(ISBN# 139780323044073). I take my boards tomorrow and all the questions in the book are on prioritizing and delegation. I did the whole book. I am thinking it is a must have for the NCLEX-RN boards but I will let you know after tmorrow. You can get it on Amazon for about $25 new....I will be selling mine IF I pass tomorrow (will know on Monday), probably for $17.
How did the boards go? Did the book help? I just finished the book myself and liked it

I took the NCLEX-RN today & used the Prioritization, Delegation & Assignment by Mosby's (this same book) & though it gave useful info
about Delegation & Assignments I did not get any questions like these. Just a few prioritization quest. So anyone interested in buying the book, do like I did...go to Barnes & Nobles read it there or buy it & return it w/in 14days, thus saving some money! Especially if your a financially struggling graduate nurse
.
Yeah mrod, it really didn't matter that I completed the questions in the book...well the case studies (part 3) seemed more beneficial than part 1&2 for the exam...at least in my opinion. Let me know what you think of this book in relation to the nclex. Good luck tomorrow!!! You'll do fine!
