To all those who have made it through to the interviews, did you guys just apply online or were you able to speak to any nurse recruiters or managers? How high is your GPA? Did you have any work experience? Any special certifications like ACLS or PALS? Did you graduate from a BSN or ASN program? Just trying to get an idea of what kinds of things they look for that helped you get selected. Thanks for any info and congrats to you guys!
Yes, applied online, was in the Open House, had an externship at teaching hospital, have been working in healthcare over 10 years, took ACLS, have a high GPA but not sure they requested that information.I never called the recruiter a single time and during Open House they requested we don't call.Hope it help you, good luck and stay positive.
Hi guys and gals,
I went to the Good Sam New Grad info session...was waiting for so long to see if Good Sam even had opportunities and then waited longer as I went through the hurdles too. I have an interview this coming up week now!!!! Sooooooo excited! I really want to work with this hospital so I hope it all works out. Anyone else being interviewed soon? Are you nervous? Im kind of anxious/nervous. But the recruitment staff seem like very sharp and extra nice people.
Anyone interview already and have tips? It sounds like some of us heard back at exactly the same time in this thread. I will cross my fingers for all of us. :heartbeat :) :heartbeat
first of all im a newbie, this is my first post. i too attended the new grad event in january, after doing the video assessment i received an email that i had passed the first round. last friday i recieved a message on the machine that i was strong candidate based on my application process and video assesment that they would like to interview me. i talked to the recruiter today and was sheduled to interview for the DOU. has anyone scheduled an interview or have interviewed already? and what area is your interview for? i thought we would be able to choose the area, i wanted ICU/CCU but im not picky, im ready to start working and from the new grad event they sound like a great organization. my friend's mom used to work there as lvn in the ICU and she loved it.

Hi baby_rn83, and welcome to the forums! As you can see, I'm a bit of a newbie myself. :) Congrats on getting an interview! :yeah:I was on pins and needles while waiting for an interview invite, after getting the e-mail that I had made it through the first round. Then, this morning I received a call from the recruiter today and got scheduled to interview for an ICU position! The recruiter actually asked me on the phone which position I wanted, which surprised me a little because I was like you and totally not picky--was open to anything, actually. And when I told him that I was interested in ICU, I was told that a position had actually opened up, and he set me up for an interview for that unit. I am beyond happy!
Good luck to both of us! Interview is set for later this week, maybe I'll see you there?
congratulations, your lucky you got asked a preference, at first i had my heart set on ICU but life takes us through different paths for different reasons. but i been researching what DOU entails and it sounds preety good, patients are not too critical for the ICU but not stable enough for the med surg floor, ratio is typically 1:4 or 1:3 unlike the ICU's 1:1 or 1:2. So u get that good mix of ICU and med surg experience. the increased nurse patient ratio will be a good prep for me for future positions and learning time managment along with prioritization. good luck to you also :)
I applied March 2. I spoke to a recruiter he said I had applied too late. :crying2:They were looking at applicants who had attended their open house. He, did say that will add my name for the next open house in june/july for the next program in Sept. Congrats to all you who got accepted. Good luck.

Are the applications continuous? I have seen the application up on their website, but figured I needed to already have my RN license to apply. Or, is there a deadline to apply?
