  1. Ok the search has ended for me after searching months for a job! I am now working for Public Health! *dream* as I fell in love with it in nursing school. They informed me that one of the main reasons why they hired me was the enthusiasm that I showed to them during the interview. I smiled a lot (I do that when I'm really nervous) lol but Honestly, I was myself. I tried to not let my nerves get the best of me. I also think that everyone should go up to the managers personally and meet them before the interview even leave a copy of your portfolio with them, although I didn't do it for this interview I got the job with, I have heard it works. Although I did bring a portfolio to my interview. Get certified in everyyything if possible. I know it is expensive, but it makes your resume look better. As far as online applications, some organizations have great systems/HR personnel, others...not so much. It really just depends... but once you submit an application, go meet that manager! Address your cover letter to them also. You will find a job, I was feeling very hopeless the past week, and then out of nowhere I am offered a job I didn't even think I had a chance at getting! Anything is possible :)
  2. good luck on your new job!!! congrats!!!
  3. have you guys found jobs yet? just curious to know as i am still on the hunt looking for a job.. im a new grad as well.
  4. I realized it's not the position I am looking for.. There is very minimal patient contact. So same with me, the search continues!! Hey at least we got more experience interviewing!! :)
  5. I live in Southern California and agree there are absolutely NO JOBS!!!!!!!!!!! People always say "Ooh Nurses are needed soo bad" ... YA RIGHT!!!!!!!!! Are any of you working else where? I am really thinking about just getting a regular job in the mean time because I need money! I am planning to move out of state next year for awhile, but the job market seems to be crappy throughout the U.S.
  6. Just curious, does UCSD make you sign a contract? If so, how long is it?
  7. You can find out the status by logging into your account on their website. I was "Not Selected". ALSO I think some hospitals need to update their system/software/WHATEVER!!!!!! A hospital never updated my profile, although attempted to fix it, now I can't even log in to their system anymore! I am beyond frustrated with their software, it's old and outdated. Venting of course... :hdvwl: Oh yeah I chose to edit this myself just incase I can't say what hospital lol I dont know how picky this website is.
  8. i have an exam this coming week. this may be a silly question. but for the medication exam, can we use a calculator (ex: lbs to kg) ? i can do the math but using a calculator is so much faster lol
  9. So how did the interview go? I have an interview soon for a case management position.
  10. Does anyone know if HOAG already posted their applications for the Nov. 1 program? I have been checking and have not seen anything..Maybe it's just too soon.. Anyone know? I also applied to Glendale Memorial and still haven't heard from them.
  11. This posting is very uplifting. I have read other postings about Case Management and they really discouraged me from even going to a Case Manager interview.. It seems they require many years experience. I am a new grad and it just seems overwhelming from the posts others have posted. Everyone who is a new grad and is a case manager, how is it going for you?
  12. anyone hear from Glendale Memorial yet?
  13. Oh wow that is a lot of applicants. I didn't even hear about the UC Irvine new grad program. How did you all find out about it?
  14. still waiting for Glendale. thank you Gold22, i agree everyone good luck!
  15. Not sure about Hoag, but on their website it does say they will open up if there are spots available. If there is no need for new nurses then I guess there goes the next new grad program
