Midwestern University 2020
Congratulations to everyone that got an interview. I’m on the waitlist but given the numbers, 75 interviewed for 34 spots doesn’t give me much hope. I only wish great things for those that got interviewed. Familytime thanks for the update. I was curious how many others were part of your interview? Before I heard they interviewed in groups. Was it not the same this year? Were you by yourself as an interviewee? I know you said other SRNAs were with you during the time you were on campus, but were there other candidates? And, I know you can’t disclose interview questions but I wanted to know how many questions did they ask during your interview and how many people were part of your panel?

Midwestern University 2020
I also received the waitlist email and I applied in June 2019. It would be nice to be considered for an interview for the 2020 class, but I wouldn’t mind if they automatically rolled over my app to the next class, 2021, without having to reapply if I’m not considered for the 2020 class. But, we have plenty of time right? The 2020 class starts in August and I wonder when they usually finish choosing candidates. Is it also October after their interviews ? So we would know for sure in November?? Does anyone know?

Need ur best advice .. NCSBN or Kaplan?
It's about same price as Kaplan and also has money back guarantee if you don't pass first time, but about 80 or 90 percent something pass on first try. Check it out online - just google hurst review online. Ncsbn was about 60 bucks, but I hardly used it. It was just too boring for me and was pretty much an outline of info that you would read online. Depends on how you prefer to learn, determination, and motivation. But, I used ncsbn and hurst review and nclex 4000

Need ur best advice .. NCSBN or Kaplan?
Ncsbn didn't help me at all.... There's a free qbank app that I downloaded on my iPhone, that's from Kaplan.... I would recommend hurst review online. From what I recall it took me about 6 weeks to complete that. I took it one time and I passed with 75 questions. Good luck!!

Starting to get discouraged
You're right... But, New grads are not determined on skill set. They are picked based on school they came from, poss recommendations, and how well they interview.

Starting to get discouraged
It's sad, but usually true... Males are more likely to be hired than Females as an rn. So your chances might be better. Plus you have some CNa exp. go for the RN if you have the opportunity. The thought of having had to take two nclex exams which are somewhat similar is too stressful IMO. Also, by the time you graduate, things may change by then. There is actually a shortage of experienced nurses, so if push comes to shove, last resort would be to move out of state to get one yr of acute hospital experience. Usually it's much easier to get a job after that - then move back home. You can do it and will find a job. Gl and welcome to the nursing fam!

Have not heard back!
It also doesn't hurt to ask how many other candidates are they considering and how many are they planning to hire. Those are all valid questions to ask. Again, gl!

Have not heard back!
Just call the nurse recruiter/hr to check status and/or when you should expect to hear back from them. When do they plan on making their decision, how will you know of their decision- will u get a phone call/email, etc. they're used to getting calls like that. No big deal. :) gl!

LAC+USC interview new grad RN
Well make sure you don't say that. they will train you, so don't worry about that. I think interview is based on basic nursing questions. If you passed nclex, then you should be able to answer the interview questions. Be yourself - show personality, play off knowledge you do know, and your willingness to learn. Gl!

Validity of Pearson VUE Trick...
If it says delivery successful and they didn't get the good pop up then unfortunately, they didnt pass. If it says pending, then they might be in luck and their test is still being reviewed. I took mine in San Dimas also and by the time I got home results were in and I got the good pop up. I checked it about 45 mins after i took it. 2 days later, my license number showed up on ca brn online. 3-4 weeks later, license in mail came in... Gl!

Just Started College
I'm not sure about not making any friends. You need at least one friend in the program that knows what you're going through so you can go to them for support or else you may quit. But don't let them get to you, eventually they will come around. One thing tho is to always work with confidence. If you ever look nervous at all and look young, no patient nor fellow Rn's will trust you. You will do great!! Good luck in your impending career!!

If it says under status of your results on the main page delivered, successful or completed and u got the good pop up, then congrats!!!

LAC+USC interview new grad RN
Ya, I did my fingerprints at commerce. I called to follow up and they said mine will take a little longer, at least 4 weeks. :/
