    When Hospice Goes Wrong

Wow...thank you so much for this article. I read it at the right time! It's truly a blessing. I have done home health and vaguely considered hospice but something about it always scared me despite my strong advocacy for comfort care at home at the end of life. I work med surg but have always has this interest in really helping those patients I knew were close to end of life dealing with cancer etc. Just this am I thought to myself, maybe I should revisit the idea of hospice nursing. Your article made me really want to do it for the fact that it broke my heart and I would love to contribute to this area with vigilance in the hopes that I can do something to keep this from happening to another individual who deserves to pass comfortable and in peace. God bless you for your insights as I'm sure this happens more often than many know.

Good Samaritan hospital LA new grad program 2010

So I had my interview and it seemed like I was only there for 20 to 30 minutes. not sure if it went ok. Gave it my best as nervous as I was but felt like I didn't have the time to get all of my points across. Don't know. I will see what happens. Felt a little rushed but what can you do. The program is apparently super competitive and they said they had lots of interviews to get through. I was escorted by an Hr person and when I checked in I chatted it up with the Hr receptionist and the guy who brought me to the interview panel room. They seem to be happy with working at good sam and they were very nice. The unit managers were very nice and welcoming. I hope it went ok. For others interviewed did you find your interviewers warm and welcoming or were they extremely professional and cold or...? What's you opinion? What made you feel that the interview went well. I ask because I'm paranoid and left feeling awefully unsure. . I have an obsession with trying to read peoples body language and I could only interpret Luke warm from them....maybe even a little on the cooler side....I really hope my interpretation is wrong and they really liked me. K.....I'm being neurotic. Goodnight and goodluck to all. :)

Good Samaritan hospital LA new grad program 2010

My interview is tomorrow at 1:30 pm and I am interviewing for the DOU. However, the recruiter used dou and cvdou interchangably when I spoke with him on the phone sooooo. Well, I am very excited but also nervous. Was told I would interview with two nurse managers and that someone from HR would also be there. I really want to work at this hospital, long term in fact....so I hope it all works out. Good luck to everyone and congrats on making it this far too! I hope we all secure a slot :) Prayers and good luck again to all.

Good Samaritan hospital LA new grad program 2010

Hi guys and gals, I went to the Good Sam New Grad info session...was waiting for so long to see if Good Sam even had opportunities and then waited longer as I went through the hurdles too. I have an interview this coming up week now!!!! Sooooooo excited! I really want to work with this hospital so I hope it all works out. Anyone else being interviewed soon? Are you nervous? Im kind of anxious/nervous. But the recruitment staff seem like very sharp and extra nice people. Anyone interview already and have tips? It sounds like some of us heard back at exactly the same time in this thread. I will cross my fingers for all of us. :heartbeat :) :heartbeat
