how do one apply a job in new zealand. do they require a hospital experience. i just had my ielts exam last oct 2007 and i got 7 in writing, reading and listen but i just got 6.5 in my speaking. So i repeated my ilets last april and i got all 7 in reading, listening and speaking expect writing. do i qualify?

you can apply for a job after finishing the CAP. NCNZ now requires one year work experience. Your IELTS test scores now qualifies for NZ. As long as you submit those two IELTS test results with NCNZ before October 2008. goodluck

In general no exam is require, English exam is required and the board of nursing will make their own assessment on your training and transcripts plus any experience you have and will decide if you need to complete any type of bridging program

ah, ok thats why they have nothing on their website. thnx.

Each application will be assessed individually and we have seen a few post that did nursing as a second course not be accepted by NZ

How about band score of 7 in listening, writing, and speaking but reading is 6.0? Am I eligible to apply for NZ BON?

since those 3 subtes are 7 and reading is 6 you need to take the ielts but at this time you only have to focus on reading that youll get it 7,nothing to worry on the other subtes anymore since in the previous exam its already 7:yeah::yeah::yeah:

i dont have any work experience. i only had training and i voluntered for a hospital for 6 mos. So that does mean that i'm not qualified even with my ielts exams?

No. It does not qualify. You need at least one year experience. I think volunteer program is still considered by NZ as experience.

hi there dheziree28, as for my application, experience as a volunteer nuse is being accepted by the NCNZ. 6 mos hospital experience is needed if you are applying for an HCA with at least 5.5 IELTS (im not sure about the ILETS score) and 1 year is required if applying as a nurse (but with score of at least 7 in every module in academic.

i know someone who's a 2nd courser who just this year went to NZ to work as a nurse.

is NZ's rejection of 2nd coursers a recent trend? maybe they don't have a policy against 2nd coursers and the ones who were rejected were just unlucky..

That was last year. They have no issues with 2nd courser. Its just last june that they started denying 2nd coursers. Unlucky for those who had been waiting for a long for their approval. But there were still who were considered after they appealed.

try to visit the nurse2nz.forumotion.com Nurse2nz forum. Heaps of 2nd coursers were denied last June 2008. Try to email the NCNZ yourself and ask them if they will accept 2nd coursers. Goodluck

Good news for IELTS takers but NZ is bad news for "2nd coursers/shiftees" since the NCNZ now requires applicants to be a graduate of a 4 year purely BSN degree.

Hi!:wink2: can you please paste the link about this.

I enrolled for Computer science for my first sem in college then i shifted to nursing the following sem. Am i considered one of the "2nd courses/shiftees" you mentioned and no longer qualified to apply? thanks!
