I had an interview for a CNA night shift position and it went really good. The employer said she would call me next week about orientation and that they will run the background check. Is that a good sign? Or do they usually just say they will call and mention something about orientation? Thanks (:

Yes, that is a a good sign that it went WELL. Usually. they make an offer and then you can accept or decline. They probably are waiting to make sure your background check is clear and then they will make the formal offer or not!
Thanks!

If they are going through the trouble to get the background check and they mentioned calling you next week for orientation I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that you got the job. Waiting that week to call you to schedule the orientation just means they need to wait for the results of the background check and I am assuming drug screen to come back before you can start. So congrats!

Generally, HR departments will not spend the time and money on the background check unless they've entertained the idea of making a job offer in the near future.
