Golden West College Nursing Spring 2018

Hello guys,

I would like to start a topic for all the Golden West College Nursing （or any other colleges) Spring 2018 applicants! Please feel free to share your experiences with us regarding application process, helpful tips, and why or why not you were selected (if you feel comfortable to do so), suggestions, or comments! We are all in the same boat and some of us may even become classmates so hopefully this will help us get to know each other and also get some of the anxieties off of our chest! Good luck everyone 😇！

Thanks for starting this post! I just submitted for Spring 2018. Does anyone know when letters go out; I'm guess by August or so?

I think we will find out end of July or beginning of August. Are you going to apply anywhere else?

Yes, looking at: SAC, Saddleback, Cypress, Cerritos, basically everywhere! Haha! First choice is GWC, though. The others accept applications in September, so there's a little bit of time. Hopefully, we will know about GWC letters before submitting to others.

What about you?

Same here lol. I will try to apply to SAC and cypress but I'm really hoping for GWC :)

Glad you guys started this post. Starting to get anxious now that we are getting closer to the letters being mailed out. I know the biggest question many of us have is how many points we have so that we can gage where we each stand. Have you guys heard what the average points have been for this batch of applications from other applicants?

I was reading last semesters thread and they said like 67 was the cut off for the alternate list. Idk though I hope they send out the letters next week or update the website and let us know.

I hope so too. I keep checking the site hoping for an update. When I spoke to the nursing advisor she made it seem like the first week of August was more realistic for a response.

I think I've got a score of 77. What's the usual overall score of getting accepted?

I think I have 71 points but I am not sure exactly. The points vary year to year but I think if your above 75 points your are for sure or have a really good shot at getting a spot.

I made my first call on Monday and the lady said they are not going to send out the letters this week. Hopefully next week 🙏
