Golden West College (GWC) ADN Fall 2023

Updated:   Published

Hey!  It might be a little early to start this, given that applications aren't open yet, but I noticed that the multi-criteria points system was updated in September 2022.  I thought I remembered being in better shape when I looked at the old points system in past semesters ? so I was curious to hear from anyone else who is planning to apply and see where we all stand.

I haven't taken the TEAS yet, but not including my TEAS score I have 56 points so far, and I'll have a max of 81 depending on my score.

How many points did you have? Just for reference so we know where they're at so far in selections

72 for GWC's app - 4.0 on science pre req's, but only scored a 78.8% on the TEAS.

Just got this from one of the administrative staff - we are emailing on other things:

"Just an FYI. Unfortunately notifications will not be sent out today if anyone is asking. We are working on the CEP first then moving on to ADN.

Hopefully they will be out soon. We will update the website soon."

I know it is difficult to wait, as I had to do the same myself and it is very frustrating. At the same time, although the acceptance is done by an Admissions committee, the actual organization of applicants and candidates is done by only 2-3 people. I know them and they do work as hard as they can - they do not like missing deadlines and they are sympathetic to applicants frustrations and stress - but they are only human. I do know that there are over 400 applicants this cycle and they are starting several things at once (Concurrent, increase # of applicants in general, doing acceptance for BOTH semesters).  I'm not asking you to be patient or "Suck it Up," far from it. What I'm saying is that know your applications and stress are taken seriously by those who must sort it and they are doing what they can to get the proper word to you.

Hopefully you will find out soon and it is good news.

Thank you for this update Kenji. I don't mind waiting. I know what a great school Golden West is and I would never once think they aren't working diligently or unorganized. For those that are frustrated, this is how it goes. California is extremely competitive and we knew this going in. I always believe to go with your gut. If you don't feel GWC is meeting your standards, move along to where you've been accepted.

Wow that is kind of messy.. especially because the CEP orientation at cal state San Bernardino is tomorrow morning already and in person. Congrats on SAC! My coworker goes there and he likes it a lot.

Yeah I have a feeling they got a little disorganized with the overwhelming amount of people they need to accept this application cycle. I hope all of you guys hear back from them soon ;(

Thank you so much! ❤️ & that's so good to hear! I do have a friend who is in SAC's program as well & she really loves her professors. So, it's nice to hear that others are loving it as well.

I'm actually shocked the orientation for SB is tomorrow! I checked both my GWC & personal email - I got nothing. Not even in my spam folder. I really hope for those who are waiting hear back real soon. This process is super draining.

Good news! I got a call very last minute yesterday to be accepted for the CEP pathway! I am at the orientation in CSUSB currently with the other 20 students. Good luck to everyone else ?

OMG congrats!! I'm still waiting. They confirmed I stayed at 70 points so I don't understand why I still have not received a call. This is pure torture. I applied for CEP too so I feel like I should have heard something. Ugh trying to stay patient

Hmmm I had 68 points so that's odd? I think they said the CEP group today is the finalized group but I hope they let you in? I am not sure honestly. But I heard from the transfer center lady from GWC said they are extending the acceptance date to no later than July 16th. I am sorry you have to deal with the wait ?

Hi ! I was wondering if anyone got the acceptance for Spring semester?

Maybe you had more CSU requirements than me? It might not be based strictly on points. I have 4.0, but I am still missing sociology and an art class. At least it's reassuring that I'll probably hear something soon. I just wish it was sooner so I knew if I needed to take pharmacology this Summer or if I can just chill LOL

I can't wait to stress out for 2 additional weeks yayyyyy LOL

I guess I'm not sure what deadline you're talking about. I checked the website and it still says that we should receive notifications no later than 5/31.

I just got a call today saying I got into the CEP pathways as well! And that if I accept I'll be getting in Fall 2023. I'm a little nervous about the coursework and tuition fees, because if I do the dual enrollment I won't be able to work....How do you feel about it? How did your orientation go? Mine is on Monday.
