Hey everyone,

I just wanted to start a thread for everyone applying to GWC this month so we can answer each other's questions, share our points, and check status' if we wind up on the alternate list.

She is a good prof. This class is pretty time consuming because of the loads of info but it's doable if you take it alone. You actually learn a lot for a hybrid-online class.

Got on the alternate list. Kinda odd that they don't tell us what alternate number we're standing at. Please keep us posted if you alternates get a call from GWC! Praying we alternates get a call soon for those "15" spots.

dkat - What were your total points? I see there are alternates for each class, both Fall and Spring, I am also trying to keep tabs on what applicants points are on here to give us an idea of how close we are to the "cut." ChanelR got in with 67 points, I made the alternate list at 61 points. It gives up an idea perhaps of how close we are? I would think they would go in order from points, or am I wrong?

i got 61 pts too. Didn't they say that it's like lottery for them to choose the alternates, or is it by points? We could call to ask how they would pick the alternates hopefully that will give us more reasonings and hope to get in.

I didn't hear how they choose alternates. I hope it's not lottery. :( Doesn't really seem fair.

Hello All,

I got a total of 64 points and am on the alternate list as well. The letter does not state how many points I ended up with (sometimes the points we calculated is different from what GWC calculated) so I suggest everyone call in to see if there was an error (because i will).

From my understanding its NOT a lottery and it all depends on how many points one has, but again I will call on Monday to verify this.

For those who got in, CONGRATS!! Does it state when you have to tell them that you will be going to GWC??

I am trying to figure out when letters/emails will be sent out for those on the wait list.

I got admitted for Fall and we have to reply by May 15th. I don't know if it's the same deadline for Spring.

Hello All,

Just talked to them and they said they are picking people from the alternate list based on HIGHEST total points!! She also said more people from the spring semester will drop (and more people from the alternate list will be picked) because students don't want to wait that long and usually go to another program that starts sooner.

I would greatly appreciate it if everyone can PLEASE list their point break down. I want to see where I would need improvement in case I didn't get into the program as an alternate. This is my point breakdown:

GPA 3.3-----------20 points

TEAS 85%---------25 points

AA Degree---------5 points

Patient care experience (over 200 hours)---10 points

Life experiences (everyone gets this-----4 points

Total-----------------------------------------64 points
