hello everyone!

I am from BAcolod and will be graduating soon as second courser come March of next year, God willing! I am now finding out possibilities of being a nurse in NZ or Australia. i have heard of the agency in Cebu called, Golden Summit. Anyone here have any website address of the agency or contact information? I would appreciate your help regarding this.

Blessings,

Jen

second coursers..

confirm first with nz council about their requirements..before spending your hard earned money on the application..

they have denied so many of us who applied to be regisered nurses in new zealand... they prefer people with 4 years pure nursing course...

just so you know...

Specializes in EENT, Radiology, Neuroscience.

Just curious...

What about shifters? They don't have a solid four years nursing education. My cousin for instance, he had two years of chemical engineering, then two and a half of nursing. Is there a bearing to that certain kind of credential?

I just remembered. Please beware of consultancy firms or agencies that offer health care assistants jobs in New Zealand.

Though I'm not sure which firm my colleagues sought help from, but they actually accepted the job as HCA's in New Zealand. They are all LICENSED here in the Philippines, but somehow their overall band score in IELTS haven't reached 7.5- which is a must for RN"S. They weren't offered the actual job when they arrived, having nowhere else to go, and was forced to be VEGETABLE PICKERS in Christchurch, south of NZ. They had to retake IELTS in that country, and reviewing for that exam in NZ is not very cheap. Considering they are broke, and underemployed, and with lots of relatives counting on them, it's a terrible place to be in.

Suggestion: Ace your IELTS before lodging your application in NZ.

oh? so ielts should now be 7.5? .. a couple of months ago, their requirement is only ALL 7.0 ..

This is what is called a second courser, have never heard the term shifter used before.

In the realm of nursing, this is a person who made a change to nursing after completing another degree. And what NZ is not keen on accepting.

They still used their hours that they completed in engineering to meet the requirements and not all of their hours were in an actual School of Nursing, so that is why.

The nursing board there will review the credentials, and they go over every single course and where it was completed. This is where your cousin is going to run into trouble in many cases.

its still 7.0 in all areas. please refer to the ncnz website (http://www.nursingcouncil.org.nz) regarding the new ruling for the 7.0 scores.

you dont have to pass all 7.0 in just one sitting .

To Chill out- sorry it was a typo, 7.0 I mean.

To Suzanne- I think the better term for that would be transferee. Yes, a second courser is the one who actually finished one degree and then took up nursing.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

I was under the impression that was only accepted if done in one sitting.

thank yoo jin! :)

i agree with you silverdragon..

oh.. a friend of mine just informed me that you can merge the result of your exams taken from different dates.. until you get all 7.0 in all areas.. great huh? :)

you have to take all the exams within 12months.. :D

Hi Everyone,

Is it true that Golden Summit now charges P 500,000 from the nurses? It seems all are included though including allowances and plane fares.

Any feedback?

Thanks

just do the processing by yourself. total expenses would probably amount to 400k including plane fare and pocket money for 3 months in new zealand.

you could save 100k . you can use it for your additional pocket money

trust me , you do not need an agency to process your application for NZ. goodluck
