praise be to god!!!i got my snail mail today (exactly 15 days after my exam), around 10.40 am... i passed!!! this is my first time taking the nclex.
i joined the allnurses.com last september 2008 during my preparation for nclex-rn. the forum had been my additional support during my review and the numerous supports from the members had been a boost indeed. thanks to all of you!!!
for those who are still awaiting their schedule, don't ever ever stop praying and lifting up everything to god. all our efforts, reviewing and studying would be in vain if we won't include him in it. after all, he is the one who holds the master plan of our lives.
good luck to all!!!
:ancong!:i'm so proud of you! was gonna pm you to see how you were doing since you had taken the test a while back, but i see now that you had to wait as long as you did for the results to come in. hopefully, i'll end up doing as well as you did. just gotta feel confident that i can pass this darn test, as well as pray to god to give me the strength to do so. god really is good!
now, before you start "helping people get better", go take a well deserved break......:onbch:
j-swift808,
thank you!!! i already did...
in fact, even while waiting i already rewarded myself with a trip to a spa and have my body massage and body scrub...
good luck on your exam. i know you can do it too! keep in touch! i can even send you my personal notes that i used in my review, if you want. i would be very glad to help and support you on your november sched. may god be with you... :wink2:
is it ok to send me your personal notes?
im planning to take on january 23,2009:uhoh21:
j-swift808,
okay, no worries (there's not much time for me to send my notes...) but i know, you can do it!!! i'll be praying for you. it's normal to feel that way before the nclex. i've been to that situation before. that is why, it's advisable not to open your books few days before because there's a tendency to feel that you haven't reviewed this stuff or that stuff and the feeling of unpreparedness will sink in (light reading worked for me though). but what should be the proper attitude?... we should be confident that what we have learned so far is enough.
good luck!!! keep in touch. may god be with you always.:wink2:
to graeyze,
you can pm me anytime. i can send the notes to your address. good luck!!!
stefano,
hmm...4 days before the exam. let me share with you....
oct 18, saturday - (attended a teaching in our christian community the whole day)
oct 19, sunday - went to the airport...8.40 am flight via cathay pacific to hongkong. watched "get smart" in the plane (so funny:lol2:, that i really felt so relaxed) and afterwards, read the pharmacology book (handy one). the rest of the flight i was able to have some good sleep. arrived hk around 3 pm. took a bus to the hotel. arrived hotel around 5 pm (i got lost along the way, missed 1 bus stop and had to go back). met my friend and had some strolling along central hk. 6.30 pm, went to the pearson vue testing center to check for the location. 7.30 pm, had some dinner in jollibee hk then went back to the hotel.
oct 20, monday - wew....day before the big day!!!! i'm thinking of not studying anymore. so after a good breakfast i slept again from 10-12 nn:zzzzz (thinking that i could relax) but when i woke up at 12, i found myself studying again, so got some light reading (reviewed pharma & some therapeutic values) til 2 pm:typing..then from 2 pm-4 pm i slept again:zzzzz (i felt so overslept already)...from 4 pm to 6 pm i started studying again (read some lab values & mnemonics about infection):typing. i went out of the hotel to have dinner in mcdonalds just a block from the hotel:p. then from 8-10 pm did some review again in pharma. 10 pm, lights out...zzzzzzzzzz:zzzzz
oct 21, tuesday - nclex day.... read my other posts. (i'm so happy:lol2:, what i reviewed in my light reading came up in the exam, a bunch of them!!!!)
i hope reading my post would somehow relax you...(like reading a boring novel. at least, at this length, you were able to forget about your anxiety, i hope...:icon_roll but to tell you, what makes me confident and not so anxious facing this exam is through prayer. i really prayed a lot and just surrender everything to god. when i walked out of the testing center, i have this positive feeling, i will pass!!! and i did!
good luck, just keep in touch. if you need help, i'm willing to help and pray for you. i always believe that a good intention will never be turned down if you pray for it. god bless you!!!
Please pray for me! I am expecting my results tomorrow or monday. I had about 115 questions (give or take) and am so scared just like everyone else (I am sure). Everyone that passes I read have 75 or 265 questions and had alot of SATA, I only had like 2!
Not everyone who passed had alot of SATA. Some who passed had no SATA at all. SATA is only a style of question and does not indicate difficulty level. I know for me, the worst part of NCLEX was waiting for the results ( OMG!!! The anxiety! ). I actually was a wreck. I remembered my last question and of course I had to go home and look it up ( BIG MISTAKE! ) and saw that I had gotten it wrong. So my nerves and anxiety got to me and I thought I must have failed. When I saw those quick results and saw passed I could not believe it. I was happy but worried that it was a mistake. Anyhow, I passed. I'll pray for you and keep my fingers crossed. Good luck.
