Hello everyone,
I am just curious to find out your state of practice and your starting rate as well as patient ratio. I am in O-Town (Orlando, Florida ) and the starting rate here for GN's is $19.69. How pathetic!
I live in Portland, Oregon and as a BSN I started at 27.09 (I believe the starting rate for ADN's is 25.09). I work at a large teaching hospital and the evening shift differential is $2 and the night shift differential is $6. We also have what we call CNI (critical need incentive) shifts and on the unit I work in we have been having them quite frequently. During these shifts we get paid our base pay plus $10 more per hour.

$18.50 in west texas base at ALL the hospitals. $2 even $4 night $3 CC $2 weekend and $5 float diff. So you have the potential to make $32/hour IF you work nights, a CC area on the weekend and have to float too!! LOL I left a hospital close by that offered NO CC, weekend or float diff and they paid $18.25 base with $2 even and $3 night diff. Cost of living is moderate we rent a 4 bedroom house for $800/month until we can buy one of our own.
Hi, I was wondering which part of tennessee is that because i am planning on moving near Knoxville to be near my grandmother and i would love to know what the rates are and the working conditions. I know there are a few hospitals in the area but i don't know which one to choose.Got any ideas?
