Hi everyone!

Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. I look forward to hearing from you guys :) Take Care~

momtofore, did you ever check out best uniforms in westville? Their scrubs are relatively affordable and they have a huge selection to chose from. They also have some cute shoes. They have watches, stethoscopes, ect. You deserve to splurge a little

Mantoux in 5 days, allergist in 6. I'm really curious to see how my test plays out.

No, haven't been to any nursing stores yet! That will be later, in the summer, if I can wait that long, lol. I'm going to start off with NB sneakers. I need some good high arch support and if I want to switch nursing shoes, I'll wear them in regular life, haha. As for the rest of the stuff....you have no idea how badly I want to start getting things! I'm a HUGE school supply nerd. It's the suppressed teacher in me. I've been buying books and small things as I think of them, but no nursing supplies YET. That's why I need to live it through YOU for now, lol!

momtofore, as you can tell I'm also a school supply nerd. I've always been that way.... lol. I used to be so obsessed with pens, pencils, and notebooks back in high school. I was crazy! Recently, I haven't bought anything else for the nursing program. I think it's wise to wait until they send out the book list ect. So far I got my penlights, stethoscope, medical dictionary, RNotes, and another little pocket book. But, for now I'm going to try to save my money. Who knows, how long that will last? lol

Thought i'd share with you that the gcc bookstore has the books required for the specific classes.

Looks like some of them that I got are required like RNotes, Fundamentals Success, Tabers, ect.

hahahhaha I hyperventilated when I just found this out! It seems like q section and class require the same books..... I purchased Taber's without the dvd though.... I'm wondering if this will be an issue lol.

I can't imagine that the RNotes PDA version is required along with the book version, especially if we don't have a PDA!

We are a chatty pair, aren't we, lol? And we never talked in class, hahaha!

This is quite a distraction to the psych test I am working on. I need to not look here until later!

momtofore, i apologize. I won't post anything more about this until you finish your psych test.... but online it says Rnotes is required.... maybe they want everyone to either have a pda or itouch? Not sure yet.... hopefully they will give us info on this soon. Good luck with your psych test! :) And sorry for my obsession with the program! lol
