Gloucester County College Nursing Fall 2011 Hopefuls?

Published

Hi everyone!

Thought I could start this thread for anyone that is applying to the GCC Nursing Program this spring? I'm just getting my portfolio organized and prepared. I have to take the HESI one more time on Feb 24th and attend an info session on Feb 28th and I'm all set. I'm so nervous! But, I'm going to try to be optimistic. I look forward to hearing from you guys :) Take Care~

I think so.... I have friends setting too.....

sent my deposit and confirmation acceptance in the mail today. All I have to do now is wait til Friday for CHBC and bring the papers over to the nursing office. How is everyone else coming along?

I got my drug test done today and then I dropped my papers of at the college.I'm a little confused though because I was only given a copy for myself, no other copy was given to me to hand into the school.I asked the lady in the nursing office and she told me they don't need a copy because they get the information sent right to them. Can anyone tell me if this is correct.

They gave me two copies- the last two of the five. Copy 4 is the employer copy and copy 5 is the donor copy. Boy, I hope they did the right thing giving me the school's copy to drop off! They did say the results would go to the school w/in 48 hours. I'm back at school on Friday and I'll bring it in then.

I can't say yet which is correct because mine isn't until Friday morning. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to drop the paper off at GCC anyway... even if they do receive the results within 48 hours. It wouldn't hurt to be safe :)

I only got one copy back when I had the test......and I ended up getting my results yesterday- and I'm assuming the school gets a copy of our results as well.....I'm pretty sure we do not need to drop off a copy to the school, but I'm wondering why Momtofore got 2 copies? If that's the case, then I would drop it off to the school...can't hurt!

I also think I'm going to do the Nursing I lecture on wednesday morning...this way I hae to same professor for all 3 things: Lab, lecture, and clinical.......crossing my fingers that I get the schedule I want!

Your right. It can't hurt. Nurd, where did you do your CHBC drug screening? I plan on doing mine in sewell. I believe momtofore did hers in glassboro. Maybe, it depends on the location not sure. Mine is in two days, so I'll see if I only get one copy. That's a good schedule. I hope you get it!

Yea just to be safe I would stop in the nursing office and ask, I'm sure someone there will be able to tell you what do.I went to the Quest in Woodbury, but it might depend on the location.

I went to Glassboro too! :)

This may be a stupid question, but I drink a lot of water.... like 8 8oz glasses or more a day..... I know for the CHBC you can't drink more than 8 oz 2 hours before your appt..... we can drink milk right? I have my appointment at 10:30am and I usually like to eat breakfast with something to drink! lol. :monkeydance:

If a "fasting" blood sample is needed, you cannot drink anything other than water prior to providing the specimen. :nurse:

Danni,

I'm the same way I drink a ton of water lol, but it said on the paper no more than 8oz of fluid so I just drank like a half a bottle of water. When I got there the lady told me to drink some more water If I wasn't ready to give the urine sample. She said it was fine to drink some more, they just don't want it to be too dilute to where they can't get a reading.
