oops..sorry!Ü i took NCLEX-RN last May 2008 & passed on my first take. they just require passing the NCLEX. IELTS would not be much of a problem since they also offer IELTS coaching & because Filipinos practiced English as second language.

yeah, it's still up to the individual if he/she would still want to sign in such agency. but generally, global care has a good reputation here in the PI.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but they cannot even submit a thing without the English exams being passed for a start, and the next would be that many have issues with the English exams and even from your country. That is why it is a requirement for those from your country and was never waived.

Take the time to do some reading on this forum and you will see the number that post about not being able to pass the exam the first time.

And the nurses that are going over had their petitions submitted some time ago, not just now.

You are new to this site, we have all been here for quite sometime and are very familiar with the agencies that operate out of your country. And we all stick with what we are saying and have been saying.

You on the other hand have no experience with them and are just starting out. What a recruiter may promise is not necessarily what will happen and we have told you that we have seen promises not kept over and over again.

It is your choice as to what to do, but you are doing to on your own and with no backup from any of us.

-----------------------------------

Then an ever bigger question for you is why such the hurry if you do not have any current work experience, and they will not accept you without is and then add in the little issue of the retrogression, and you are looking at about five years and perhaps even longer for only a chance at a green card?

That makes absolutely no sense at all to any of us, and what if the agency is not in business 5 years from now? Then you start all over again from the beginning. You really need to take the time to do some reading on the forums here, there is much that you need to know to make an educated decision, and not based on what a recruiter promises to you. They are always going to make things sound rosier and they have nothing to do with the immigration process nor can they get things done quicker for you.

I would focus on going to another country to get experience if you truly wish to work in the US.

Best of luck to you.

thanks a lot suzanne! i really appreciate your concern for nurses like me. what i was planning to do after my orientation with global care is that i wanted to gain clinical experience first before even signing with such. as of now, i haven't signed the contract yet..& im not sure if i will be still signing it with the said agency. im curently looking for a job now as a staff nurse.

i still do not know what i should be doing next. what i know is that i still need to gain experience.Ü

Not sure what you mean by orientation, but anything that is done in your country is not what we would call an orientation for working in the US.

There is a five year plus wait for a chance at a green card, and any agency does not do things just for the fun of it. They make their money when the nurse actually starts to work, and if they cannot do that, then they do not have any money coming in. So money is going to have to come from someplace else, and that is usually when someone backs out of a contract that they have signed.

Again, you are free to sign any contract and do as you please. Enough warnings have been given to you, it is your choice as to what you are going to do with the information that you have received.

There are many issues that you may not be aware of, but I am not going to go into here. And once again, not all pass the English exams on the first try, far from it. Recommend that you take the time to do some reading here and also recommend that you look at going to another country to get experience. You are not going to be able to find paying work where you are, and that is what is needed when they want experience. We are also expecting the US government to require experience as well in the near future, and these so-called volunteer programs will not count. They do not count in other countries either.

Best of luck to you, you are going to need it. Especially since you do not want to listen to what others are telling you, besides me.

orientation, as they call it, is when i attended the meeting with them, also with other nurses as they orient us with the services that they offer.

im not even in a hurry to take IELTS because i know it will expire for two or three(?) years, which is why i consider looking for a job first. IELTS would not be much of a problem since it's easier to take than NCLEX because it's not that difficult to process & a lot cheaper than NCLEX.

it's not that i do not want to listen..it's just that i'm still open with the opinions from others since im also in a confused state as to what i should be doing next.what i meant in my previous post was that if ever i will landing on a job soon, im still not sure if i would be signing up with them after gaining experience.

That is not what is known as orientation, but strictly what is referred to as a meet and greet. And nothing more than that. If they are just telling you about their services, then that is not what is called an orientation. You also do not know if they will have jobs for you when and if the time comes. You are focusing on the wrong things first.

We are telling you to focus on getting experience first and then finding an agency. You do not even know if any of these agencies will be in business five to ten years from now when and if you get a chance at a visa to work in the US, and if they are not; you lose all of the time that you have spent waiting. You cannot just transfer to another employer.

There are quite a few that do not pass the IELTS the first time so do not assume that it is that easy first of all. And I am speaking of those from your country that have issues with the exam.

Another thing to be cautious of and with any agency:

Even if they place you with a facility, there is no guarantee that the facility will have a need for you five years plus down the line and if they do not, then the US government will cancel the petition as well.

Many of you are not looking at the entire picture and this is what needs to be done, not what can be done just today. Chances of getting a visa for the US are going to be getting smaller and smaller with the increase in the number of graduates that are coming out of your country in exponential numbers each and every year. And with no job prospects there, you are going to have no choice but to go to another country first. There are no jobs that are going to give you experience in your country.

thanks a lot for that best information i need..Godbless

If you take the time to do a Google Search, you will find the information that you are looking for. It is right there at the top of the list.

Just use the company name and Makati and it is all right there. Have you tried that at all?

We do not permit contact information to be posted here.

I was able to apply through a direct hire facility in the USA.:)

May i know what facility did you apply for? Thank you.:nurse:

Many places now are delaying taking on foreign trained nurses due to the long wait. You would do better contacting facilities in the areas you want to live and ask about being petitioned
