hello there i would just like to ask.if any one of you signed up with global care in makati or rochart global resource center? i would just like to know if it is ok or reputable agency?and if you can give me some more info much better tnx.hoping for your reply

Not necessarily the case at all and that is where many are mistaken. If the agency is going to place you with a facility and the facility no longer has needs for you at the time of the interview; poof, the petition is cancelled. Or if the agency or the employer is not in business then due to the length of time of waiting. Again, poof; it is gone and you start over again from the beginning.

Global care has a binding contract which is valid for a year. If nothing happens within a year, you may find another agency without having to pay. You also have the option to stick with them and wait. My cousin was able to go to California through this agency. It took her 2 years and a half though. Good thing is, she went to the US with her family.

@john, which agency did you sign up?

I was able to apply through a direct hire facility in the USA.:)

What you need to be aware of is that it does not matter what happened in the past, and if the person is in the US now, they got thru before the retrogression took effect this time.

What is a fact now, is that even with an employer, one is looking at a five year wait plus and no guarantee that one will ever get to the US. Does not matter what an agency or employer promises, they do not issue visas.

i had also been invited to the said agency..Global Care. i went there a couple of days ago. what they presented were really good hospitals though. i just did not sign up in the one-year contract yet because i haven't got a hospital experience, as they require at least 6 months of clinical experience for nclex passers like me.

are those who signed up really took years?

the woman whom i got to talk to in the said agency told us that for NCLEX passers like me, if eveer i got my hospital experience already, they can make me face the coming employers already. if i will be hired by them, it wwill only take months for my visa.

And I have some swamp land for sale as well.

Come on and get serious, there are no visas available now and the US is under the retrogression so there is no way that you are going to be in the US in just a few months. These wonderful agencies do not issue visas nor can they make things move faster for you. Just a bunch of garbage that they are telling you to get you to sign with them. Nothing more than that at all. They are making promises that they cannot even keep.

Other issue is do you even have a Visa Screen Certificate or even have taken the English exams?

It gets me quite upset when I see recruiters do this type of dumb stuff and people believe them, but it is not going to happen.

Your choice as to what to do, but you have been warned.

and oh..yeah, the contract is only valid for a year. it was also emphasized by the woman that i talked to that after a year, if nothing progressed, it is up to us if we would still commit with them.

You asked for our opinion and it has been given. Sorry, but there is not one agency that is going to invest thousands of dollars on you for free and with the idea that you can just walk from them. Does not matter what a lady from there is telling you, but she is most definitely not the one that can even represent the company in contract dealings as well. That requires someone from management there that has the authority to do so.

And then why in the world are you wishing to waste a year knowing full well in advance that there is not going to be a visa for you. That makes no sense at all to me, or anyone else for that matter.

You are going to need to make decisions on your own, and take responsibility for what ever you decide. You came here asking for advice and we gave it. If you chose not to listen to it, then you are doing so at your own accord.

there will be a batch of nurses that global care will send to the US this july, hired by employers as well. there were employers coming to the philippines & they were the ones who choose their nurses for their hopitals.

i just took NCLEX-RN last May 2008, im planning to take IELTS maybe next month. im currently waiting for employment as a staff nurse here in the philippines so as to have bedside experience. if i will be signing up for this POEA-certified agency & if they let me get interviewed already by employers, i know it will take time to get a visa so it's good to still continue with bedside if ever. Good thing about this agency is that they present their nurses to their employers, so having an employer would not be that hard.retrogression was even discussed during the orientation. i think it would be best if they would be the one to discuss about it.

the employers will be the ones who will be sponsoring for the expenses. the agency would not even care about the salary..salary thing would just be between the employer & the nurse.no salary deductions! what they are up to is to send nurses to US.their business is between them & the employer.

i was just trying to share my opinions & my encounter with this agency. i was not even asking for a question. i just also would like to hear from others who had the same, or almost the same encounter as mine.

if you guys would like to find out about this agency, then it would be best to go directly to their office.

There is a retrogression now and if you will read our forums and other forums, many are stuck with retrogression for x amount of years and not one thing can be submitted w/o having the proof of passing either the CGNFS exam or NCLEX exam w/c you have not mentioned that you did. You just mentioned you took it.

Also, there are many instances that an applicant has complete docs and promises that their files will be filed but turns out it wasn't even filed on the month they said it was filed.

But then again, it is to the individual on what to do. Just be fore-warned that signing a contract w/ an agency does not always translate to cases being filed ASAP and there is absolutely nothing to rush into signing a contract either during retrogression.

It's your choice.
