Glendale community College Spring 202

U.S.A. California

Updated:   Published

Hi guys,

I barely found out about this website, which I found extremely helpful. I am a pre nursing student, recently completed all my pre-reqs. I'm applying in all Los Angeles county colleges, but I'm really scared my GPA is a 3.3 and I haven't yet taken the TEAS IDK if I should wait till I apply? because I know sometimes they invite you to take it bc I need more studying. I got a B in anatomy and physiology and an A in micro. But I have a W on anatomy because I tried taking it in the Summer for like a week and gave up. Worst mistake of my life. Anyway I feel pretty unconfident to be honest, because I know its extremely competitive. I'm applying to Pierce, Glendale, Pasadena, Moorpark, Valley, and college of the canyons. Just thought I made this so we can all share our application experience, current or previous. I'm lacking motivation because of my low GPA and I'm super scared of taking the TEAS and doing bad.

I got rejected as well. I am a bit sad because i got so used to this school. Luckily, I was accepted at two other schools and I know Glendale is a lottery (for sure it is since I applied with high stats, a bachelors degree and a CNA certificate and I took all my prerequisites there). I encourage everyone who has competitive stats to not only apply to lottery programs but schools that select by points system. Good luck!

If anyone else got into the weekend program (not my first choice but I'll take what I get) let me know!

Heidi thank you for that tbh that made me feel better because I keep thinking it’s my points making me so ineligible! I also have a lot of experience in the field as a ER Tech/Phlebotomist. I’m glad you got into other places! It definitely shows you deserve it !

I got in as well to the standard program!! I’m so surprised guys!! To those of you who didn’t get in, spots can open up and you can still possibly be expected depending on where you are in the list. Don’t give up hope❤️

Yes I told people I would be a lot less hurt if I don't get into GCC since I know it has nothing to do with my failures as a person. Lol! So it's not personal, I hope some spots open up!

Congrats to those of you who got in! For those that were rejected I HIGHLY recommend emailing Frezoli back, and ask her to please keep you in mind if any seats do become available. Of course it’s not a guarantee, but she will keep those emails on standby. I know of people who were initially rejected but were offered alternate positions later on.

For those who got in and would like information about the program/first semester, again feel free to message me!

Hi everyone, I got into GCC's standard program! I also got into CONAH but got food poisoning and forfeited my spot when I had to miss their mandatory pre-orientation.

I'm so relieved to have gotten in at GCC, also.

Congrats to everyone that got it!

Thats strange! I am in the W/E cohort as well. If there's any advice I can give is get ready to be very flexible. The didactic schedule and clinical schedules change very frequently! And when you get into your 3rd semester the W/E and Standard class will actually merge together and you will switch to days. You will also have to find time to complete mandatory volunteer hours and certifications as well.

Thank you! I realize that it probably wouldn't matter if I was day or night. I see the night is more of an afternoon except for one day in Spring. I bet any program is like that and clinical are gonna be anytime. I've worked a long time to get here and now that I'm on the precipice it's so scary!

It doesn't matter, I'm gonna find a way I just need to be mentally prepared haha!

Hi Nilla,

I also got in to the LVN-RN program after I got rejected to Rio Hondo.
Congrats!!!!! I just have a question how do you know if you got into the evening program. I am really hoping I got into the evening program but I don’t know where it would state it. I am so excited!

My letter said "Dear Nursing Student, We are delighted to inform you that you have been selected for the Weekend Evening program!"

I think the other program says standard.
