Glendale community College Spring 202

U.S.A. California

Updated:   Published

Hi guys,

I barely found out about this website, which I found extremely helpful. I am a pre nursing student, recently completed all my pre-reqs. I'm applying in all Los Angeles county colleges, but I'm really scared my GPA is a 3.3 and I haven't yet taken the TEAS IDK if I should wait till I apply? because I know sometimes they invite you to take it bc I need more studying. I got a B in anatomy and physiology and an A in micro. But I have a W on anatomy because I tried taking it in the Summer for like a week and gave up. Worst mistake of my life. Anyway I feel pretty unconfident to be honest, because I know its extremely competitive. I'm applying to Pierce, Glendale, Pasadena, Moorpark, Valley, and college of the canyons. Just thought I made this so we can all share our application experience, current or previous. I'm lacking motivation because of my low GPA and I'm super scared of taking the TEAS and doing bad.

That’s odd mine didn’t say any of that. Mine said “we are delighted to inform you you have been selected for the Career Ladder RN-LVN program!
Thank you though for your response. I’ll call on Monday and find out. Unfortunately I was at work until 730pm and didn’t get to see my emails and I saw the email then?
Are you an LVN?

Hi RosieSs! I know your question wasn’t directed at me but wanted to provide you some insight. The LVNs don’t start the program with the incoming class. You will actually jump in with the incoming 3rd semester students (and their classes actually become combined during that semester. So no more weekend/evening and standard- they’re all together).

My letter said "Dear Nursing Student, We are delighted to inform you that you have been selected for the Weekend Evening program!"

I think the other program says standard.

Thank you so much mdoss for the reply and the insight. I am trying to see how to situate myself since I have a full time job. I’m excited either way I’m going to have to make it work. Do you happen to known when does the 3rd semester? Did you finish the program?

No I'm not a LVN. I applied for the ADN program. I actually selected both the standard and evening weekend program, but just got into the weekend one.

I imagine you'll be doing the 3rd semester students in their cohort. I'm sure they'll cover it all in the meeting (hopefully).

I’m graduating this December! Unfortunately the schedules are subject to change every semester- but historically 3rd semester is Monday and Tuesday in the early morning-mid afternoon for the didactic portion. Because you are an LVN I don’t believe you need to take maternity, so you will only be taking the Medsurg III class on Tuesdays (and not coming for Maternity on Monday). On top of that you’ll be completing clincial hours as well! Your clincial hours vary based on which location you are placed in. Unfortunately we don’t get to choose where we go- it’s all preselected for us! You’ll probably be grouped with the other LVNs for your clincial site. It’s always a little strange for the LVNs because you will be joining a cohort that has already been taking classes together for a year, but you’ll also have about 9 other LVNs joining with you so you’re not alone!

Hi did anyone here apply to valley college?

I haven't either, but I follow another thread an someone said that he/she got an acceptance call yesterday, but I haven't heard of anyone else getting a call or hearing anything.

I also applied and have only heard of the same person getting an acceptance call yesterday.
