GHC fall semester is going great! Lots and lots of fun. How do you guys in Marietta like your instructors?
yes the nursing program overall is pretty good.
they have pretty good pass percentages and graduates do pretty well nclex wise as far as I know.
The biggest complaint is sometimes they don't have the best organization in the world and that can make it hard to keep up with sometimes but otherwise it is good.
They also have a LPN bridge program which is the first 2 semesters in like 8-9 weeks I think. I heard it is quite difficult from the people that combined with us this fall but probably worth it if you can stay focused and get through it.
nice to meet you penny :) You probably messed up now, we're gonna pick your brain! lol.. i hope everyone did ok on the test today! My thoughts are still in limbo, i just dunno..
hopeformelissa... how was your test today?? AND to anyone.. i thought there would be an episode online... not just more reading for episode 2?? is this the same for you guys too? If so, SUPER lame.
I don't mind at all :)
What I would've given to know some of the things now.
Now I don't know about Marietta campus but if any of ya'll are in Rome I must say
if they give you online quizzes it is in your best interest to copy and paste those questions and save them. Once you complete the quiz it is a very good idea to save the rationales as well. If they are doing it like they did with us a lot of Pharmacology had online content and a lot of it was seen again on the test so pay attention to the online quizzes. (GHC ones not ATI/Medspub..although occasionally I have seen an ATI question come up again)
Hey everybody! I feel like I never have time to get on allnurses anymore.
Our test in Rome seemed a teensy weensy bit easier than the first one....in my opinion. I can't wait to get the grades back tomorrow. I feel like I did ok on it. I tried really hard not to second guess my answers this time. (I did that last time and changed a few of mine that were actually right.)
I do feel officially overwhelmed now.....Pharmacology is gonna kick my butt!!!! I'm just glad I took the Clinical Calculations class this past summer. At least I don't have to learn that AND pharmacology at the same time. I don't know about you ladies in Marietta, but our instructors in Rome have absolutely no mercy on us!
CJohn, our Neighborhood hasn't had anything but reading yet. There have been no activities. I'm sure it will get better, but so far I don't find it that interesting.
We are supposed to go over the Evidence Based Practice project tomorrow.
We haven't had any online quizzes yet. Things still seem really unorganized in Rome.
Time is flying by.... I can't wait to start clinicals. I'm so excited.
What other tips and advice can you give us Penny? I need all the help I can get!!! :wink2: My tail end has "wallored" out a place in my couch from so much studying in one spot.
I wouldn't really worry about clinicals quite yet thats for sure.
The project isn't all that hard so I wouldn't be concerned about it. When project time comes up if you need help you can always PM me.
Don't stress over clinical calcs it isn't too difficult. I don't know what time you guys have your lunch but us second years are on campus on mondays (Heritage Hall) so any clinical calcs help you may need I wouldn't mind. I'm no expert but I passed
If you took clinical calcs class and did well should be no problem, I took it too and I have never had an issue with clinical calcs. Make sure to pay attention to the rounding rules.
I can't think of specific tips at the moment but if you have any questions I'd be more than happy to help, I wish I could've had someone in second year to give me heads up when I was in your shoes
Good luck :D
Altruistic, I don't know anybody who is in the accelerated program at Rome, so I'm not sure what their schedule is. I believe it is different from the regular schedule we are on.
We go 3 days a week (2 of which are 1/2 days) and then we have an online day (which takes up about 4-5 hours).
I did the January accelerated program.
The schedule was usually Mon, Tues, Thurs with Tues online modules
clinicals will be whatever you get from the lottery or however they decide to do it
then for 1102 you will go to school through the summer from may to august pretty much
schedule gets pretty hectic for a while there but you can do it.
good luck on admission! :)
