Although, It says for students Everyone is welcome.
A few years ago I lost a significant amount of weight and increased my health by walking/running. I was involved with a support thread on another board. We shared our stats each week, our ups, and our downs. It was so helpful for me to be accountable for my actiions and numbers. Well, I was doing good, but had a surprise pregnancy now he is 2, and I am back where I was and then some.
With the unique considerations that come from fitting excercise and a healthy diet in during NS/and pre- reqs, I thought it might be nice to be able to share and support each other because we know better than anyone else the stress of time management and pressure of keeping our grades up.
I know that NS can be strenuous physically and I want to get in shape or at least a head start for this fall
Would anyone else like to join me?
I so understamd what you mean!
My husband is driving me crazy I think he is trying to sabbotage me...He has decided that now I am in school and actually doing pretty good that he doesn't want to work and he doesn't wanna go back to the job he has now because it's "not what he wants to do"
GRRRRR
So needless to say I have been stressing I stopped drinking pop and cut back on regular iced tea to switch to green tea
and my food intake has been modified(portions and the types) so now I really need to work on my excercise. I usually make him drop me off at the back of the parking lot so I have to walk(which I love to do) to the office and classs rooms
now all I have to do is convince him to follow through what he promised since we had talked about this way before I even enrolled in classes
anyway sorry to vent so far away from all my family and friends I know that this is my outlet now.
Thanks guys
i'm finding that i have more motivation to walk if i have my palm pilot with me that has music on it. otherwise, i get way too bored too easily. and it went dead as soon as i started walking last night. i hate that! and i've done horrible about being on a good diet this week!
i hope i get my letter today, though i'm sure it will be next week before it comes.

:ancong!:
MissRn!!!!
I'm really happy for you all. That is awesome news.
Nightbloom 5 lbs!!!!! :anpom:
That is fantastic!!!
I don't know if I will have a loss this week or not. Today my youngest daughter turned 5 and I'm pretty sure I will have a little cake. I have flex points left but, AF is here so here so I'm bloated:(
I have not exercised in like two weeks either. Semester is over for me in 4 days so hopefully I can get moving more.
Nightbloom I meant to mention, that I lived in Radcliffe for awhile in the late 80"s while my ex was at Fort Knox.We lived there before we got on base. That is not too far from you is it? I thought it was really nice there. People were a lot friendlier than they are here in Northern Indiana where I'm from. Something to that Southern hospitality.
I hope you are all having a great weekend. I'm going to TRY and be good and not devour half of my dd's bday cake. :)
Congrats to all who got in!!! Yay!!! I'm so happy for you.I just got on the scale and lost 5 pounds this week! Looks like I wasn't following the points like I should have been before.
I kept on gaining and losing the same 2 pounds, which was very frustrating.
Total lost so far 10 lbs.
good job on the 5 pounds! thats great!!!!
and thanks for all the congratulations!
Hi All,
I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was good. I lost three pounds last week! Yippee! I didn't get on my work computer all weekend.
Now for the bad news, I got on my work computer yesterday and nearly blew a fuse. It sent me off on a very ugly rant and rave all day. Which resulted in me binging eating. I even did the whole McDonald's thing.
The thing that makes it worse is that I am battling depression at this time and went to see the psychiatrist yesterday after binging. This is the first time I have ever been to one. I told him that I eat to feel better, I eat when I am sad and I eat when I want to celebrate, but really I eat when I upset. So anyhow, he has put me on meds which makes me feel like I have not control over myself.
This is an ugly long rant....sorry. Anyway, I am looking desperately to get out of my job. Since I am pre-RN at this moment I really would like to know what options I have to get exposure to a hospital setting. I have a degree but I don't want to do the type of work I do anymore (14 years later). So any help advise would be great!
Piglet:p
Piglet,
I have a JD and I have been temping as a secretary because I couldn't find a job.... I am taking a 2-week CNA course in June in order to get into a hospital setting.
A lot of the hospitals have their own websites with job postings on them. You might be able to find a job in transport, which requires no degree, but will get you into a hospital setting. If you've ever been a secretary then you may be able to get in as a unit secretary. I have looked here where I am but I need a job that is weekend only 12 hours a day (if I get into nursing school I will be going full-time during the week) and so far I haven't found a unit secretary position like that.
Good Luck!! I can certainly understand your frustration. I hate being a secretary.
WishiN,
Radcliff is about 1 1/2 away from me... I think. I'm on the border of Southern Indiana. If your ever down this way, look me up. We have tons of southern hospitality around here.
