Getting a job with new misdemeanor

Published

My felony charge from diverting is being dropped to a misdemeanor and ive been in monitoring since October. Is there anyone in Indiana who can tell me where will hire with a recent misdemeanor/monitoring. Im also 20 weeks pregnant so I dont plan on finding anything until after September but wanted to start getting ideas.

We’re you guys able to get jobs right away, once you started monitoring? Wondering if I should start applying or wait until after I start the monitoring process. I have an evaluation in a week.

My license was suspended when I started INPRP. It took me about 4 months to get a job after my suspension was lifted.

You might want to wait until you start monitoring before looking for a job. You will probably be on a narcotic restriction and your case manager has to approve your job. It's a lot in the beginning and might feel overwhelming but it gets better!

Thank you. I have my intake evaluation on the 22nd. Already starting that process, just so worried about what lies ahead. Trying to keep my head up.

Not going to lie...it’s a tough road but it gets easier. IPRP is no joke! My advice is do what they ask if you are guilty (and it can be proved). Not sure where you are located but if you diverted in Marion County, there will be charges, but every case I’ve seen has been different, as to what the end result of those charges are. You have a lot of support here! Don’t be so tough on yourself, there are a lot of us in this boat!

Anyone looking for a top paying nursing job while your liscence is on probation or in the IPRP should apply at University Park in Fort Wayne. They don't judge and pay very well.
