Gone are the days of the ''normal'' 120/80 BP, now its 115/70, of course drug companies are probably dancin up a storm knowing the amt of $ they will be raking in. What's your take on this change of BP?

If studies truly show that people who are above 120/80 have more cardiac health problems, then it's good.

Yep.
And you don't have to go right to drugs for a bp above the standard. Almost everyone starts with diet and exercise.

I routinly un-nerve the nurses in my doctors office. My resting HR is in the 60s and my BP normally runs 90-100 over 50-60.
PS I run 3-4 miles 3x a week, and weightlift 4-5 days a week.

Recent continuing ed meeting I attended with a speaker who was an endicrinologist speaking basically about diabetic patients said bp less than 100 systolic was ideal as long as patient did not get orthostatic problems from it. So go figure. Most nurses I know get bent out of shape if a patients bp is like that.

I watched it on Regis and Kelly yesterday. Dr Oz said 115/75. He is the cardiologist who wrote that book "You-the owners manual"

Yikes. I run 110/70 all the time normally, but have to be on calcium channel blockers for a heart problem. Now I'm about 95/65 give or take. However, if I get below 60 I get really sick feeling, and I start crying for no reason.
Anyway, I think that is too low. Maybe shooting for under 120/80 for someone with diabetes I can see. But not for average people like me who need that extra pressure to get everything working right. I'll have to follow this...
