[color=#0080c0]if you get started --- think about the rewards. if
you don't get started --- think about the
consequences. looking at the big
picture of what needs to be done can be
overwhelming. time lost --- is time lost.
so get the ball rolling by breaking your tasks into
small steps.
once you start the momentum of action you'll begin
to feel some sense of relief and accomplishment.
success first starts in your mind and then your
behind must get up and take action. action speaks
louder than fear. you can act your way into
feeling like doing something before you can feel your
way into action.
scientist newton gave the world the first law of
motion which is newton's first law of motion, "an
object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in
motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed
and in the same direction unless acted upon by an
unbalanced force."
if you wait until you feel like doing the paperwork,
making the call, exercising, etc., you may never get
started. don't wait until you think you have all the
answers and courage to get started. those things
will come as you begin to take those steps. once
you make up your mind, get up and moving.
my personal lessons of procrastination in the past
have resulted
in my loss of sleep, money, time and important
papers.

you can focus on what's
wrongin your life,
or you can focus on what's right.
but whatever you focus on,
you're going to get more of.
think lack, and you get lack.
think abundance, and you get more.

[color=#408080]how much time and energy do you spend avoiding certain things, not because they are harmful, but simply because you don't like them? do your efforts to avoid what you don't like ever prevent you from the enjoyment of what you do like?
[color=#408080]the more things you decide you don't like, the more possibilities you create for your own unhappiness. the more things you dislike, the more you deny to yourself the rich diversity that life has to offer.
[color=#408080]there's certainly no need to go out of your way to seek out the things you don't like. but by the same measure it's silly to go out of your way and to put a lot of effort into avoiding them.
[color=#408080]by putting your energy into avoiding a few things you don't like, you end up missing out on a lot of other things you would enjoy very much. so you gain nothing of value in the process.
[color=#408080]far too many people who are perfectly capable of truly great achievements never even attempt them because they're trying to avoid a little unpleasantness. don't let yourself make that mistake.
[color=#408080]forget about what you don't like. focus your time, your energy and your efforts on what you do like, on the positive things you want to accomplish, and those efforts will be well spent. [color=#408080]ralph marston

Well, this email really keeps me going some days. I just feel like nursing students need all the encouragement they can get, so when it is this good, I will share them with you guys. I just wish the cute pictures would show up sometimes. Sometimes they are goofy.

One of my favorites right now:
There are two types of pain. The pain of discipline and the pain of regret.
Personally, I'm not very disciplined, so this one really gets me. I know the regrets will be harder to bear, so it really gets me moving!
