Georgia Wages

U.S.A. Georgia

Does anyone know what an RN in or around thomas county make an hour? Thanks

You can research salaries at http://swz-yahoo.salary.com. RNs in Georgia (between the 25th-75th percentiles) average between 52,398 to 62,404 per year and in the US between 52,137 to 62,094 per year. Hope this helps!

I worked in GA until up to just the end of summer. I'm not sure where Thomas County is. However, in the Middle GA area, the hospital I worked for paid new grads starting salary of approx $40,000/yr with a raise of .50/hr per year along with approx a $2/hr per year to every other year to stay competitive with HCA. If Thomas is closer to Atlanta, you can expect a somewhat higher pay scale along with a higher cost of living and headache of trying to get to work in traffic. A friend lives 15 miles from Piedmont Hospital and her one-way commute time is usually 45-75 minutes! :uhoh3:

Specializes in Internal Medicine Unit.

Thomas County is south from where I live. Either way, it's rural and the wages are not going to be the same as in an urban area. However, I have found that the wages quoted in another thread of around 40,000 annual for a new grad is accurate and competitive when you consider drive time and cost of living. Hope this helps.

CNAs make about $8/hr to start in LTC or ALF. In hospitals IF you can find a spot pay about $10/hr with additional shift diff on top of that. I say IF because CNA/PCT jobs in hospitals are few and far between.

Hope this helps.

Well, new grads in the Atlanta area typically earn $20/hr as base pay. If you're willing to work nights or weekends, you'll make more money. I worked with one new grad who signed up for weekend nights and with all her differentials working only her three shifts earned her $50,000 more per year than if she worked weekdays only.

Atlanta may pay more than smaller counties, but hopefully your cost of living is lower to compensate. :)
