Georgia State University, Fall 2011 Application

Published

I mailed my Fall 2011 GSU nursing application on Jan. 22. The application deadline is March 1st. As we wait, I invite all applicants, traditional or ACE, to post their program gpa and TEAS version V scores and keep others abreast when they receive an applicaton response. Here are mine:

Program GPA: 3.63

TEAS V: 86.0 (Date 1/15/2011)

Percentile Rank - National: 97

Percentile Rank - Program: 94

As we wait,....

Wow! I hope it doesn't take another month for me to find out.

lstuckey79 i know how u feel with the gpa! i came from uga and have a 3.69... when i was there it was a really high gpa compared to everyone else! it was almost impossible to get an a in a science course. it really sucks that they dont take in to consideration the ppl who came from big universities

Welcome to the board, Istuckey79--you are just in time for the real nail-biting!!!!:D

The anxiety is just awful, isn't it? My program gpa and teas are both good (4.0/94) but I'm hearing crickets everytime that I open my mailbox...and trust me when I tell ya, that thing is getting opened A LOT!! So here I sit, wondering if there's a problem with my app (too many current prereqs, etc.) and worrying that a denial will be finding its way to me any day now. If I have to reapply for spring then I can't even begin to imagine what classes I'll take next fall. All in all, I'd say this process just sucks.:lol2:

Gsu11--thanks for the info! At least I can (sorta) chill until a little later this week. OMG, if I have to wait two months to hear that I'm waitlisted, I'll lose my mind!! :crying2:

Well with those scores I definitely think your in!!! Im really surprised u didn't get a letter yet : )

Hey everyone,

Congrats to everyone who got their acceptance. I will be joining you guys in the Fall ACE track. Super excited. I got my letter on Friday, so whoever mentioned that above, you were right on with that. For those still waiting to hear back, hang in there and good luck!!!

YAY CocoM411!!!! Congrats to you!! :) I know that you are excited and relieved. :yeah:

I hope that the rest of us will be joining you soon!!

Hey,everyone. I had a quick question: I am going to GSU as a second year student soon, but im considering to take the TEAS soon in order to give my time to retake it if needed. Does anyone know if GSU has a set number of attempts for taking the TEAS.

Or maybe I should wait to finish Chem 2, and the A&P sequence. I just want the information to be fresh in my mind.

Thanks.

Wow...I wasn't even nervous until I read that people are already getting acceptance letters... Congratulations to everyone who got in and good luck to everyone else!

:)

karamarie91: I want to say that you can take it twice a year, but I can't find anything on the school's site right now to back that up, so don't hold me to it. Maybe someone else can verify or deny that for us. So far as when to take it...I'd wait until I had both chems and at least the first a&p. There was a fair amount of each subject on the test and I felt like having already had those classes really helped me. Plus, while it's not a huge deal to retake the TEAS, it isn't exactly loads of fun so if you can take it just once, do really well, and then be done with, all the better!! That's just my opinion and my experience of course. Good luck to you with whatever you decide!! :)

aimiee118: Welcome! Did you apply to the traditional or ACE track? Other programs? And yes--knowing that decisions have been, and are currently being, made is stressful! Best of luck to you!!

Fingers and toes still tightly crossed,

Kel3 :D

Karamarie I've talked to an advisor about the same thing before and the nursing program will accept as many scores as you choose to send in. However, i think the ppl who conduct the test, ATI, will only let you take it twice a year. But you may want to call ATI and confirm... Good luck!!

O and I just got into mercer!! So at least I can calm down a little bit bc I know I have a backup plan : )
