Georgia State Perimeter College Spring 2020

Published

Hey peers,

I wanted to start a thread for pre-nursing students who applied for admissions into the spring of 2020 program. I was denied for admissions into the Fall of 2019 and my application was updated by the admin for consideration for the spring semester. I am re-taking the TEAS-exam over this summer to boost my chances as only 60 students are selected for the spring and 80 for the fall.

My stats when I applied for the Fall of 2019 was:

3.8- General Ed

3.45- Science

3.72-Overall GPA

Teas- 70.5%

My Stats for the Spring of 2020

3.88-General Ed

3.57-Science

3.74-Overall GPA

Teas- Retaking

As of the Summer of 2019- I will have all nursing pre-requisites complete, including the new Psych 2103- Intro to human development. I just graduated on the 7th with my Associate of Science degree with high honors but it seems to me that having all pre-reqs complete and a high gpa doesn't guarantee admissions as long as your Teas score and science gpa is competitive.

Thereon, share your stats ladies and keep God in your prayer as he has chosen us to pick this field and nursing is very rewarding, working as CNA and Medtech for 4 years has really opened my love for the field. Yes at times the workload is very heavy and draining but I wouldn't give up the time I spent with my patients, nurses and their family members for the world. Caring for others is my calling and I know God called each of us for this ?

I know someone who has a GPA that's a 3.2 but is in the program because they have all their pre-reqs done, I would recommend completing all before the nursing program to enhance your possibilities to get in, I got in by the grace of god and keeping the faith. Keep your faith, you will get in maybe by the end of October or early November, and let me know if you do, because I am rooting for you all to get in like I did ❤️ It was a miracle for me because usually once their decisions is final, it's final unless someone gives up their seat !

@Jennychi24 I will and thank you for the the kind words

Youre welcome anytime @Tonisha90 . Keep the faith

Just found this forum the other day and I have to say that I love the support and positivity that you are all throwing around.

I opened my letter about an hour ago after avoiding it for a few days because of my nerves and I’m so happy to say that I got accepted!

To those who did not get accepted: remember that this is only the beginning for all of us. Everyone’s path is different, but it’s your path and everything WILL fall into place! Don’t lose hope!

I recently found out this group. I got in the program for Spring 2020. For those who did not get accepted, please do not give up. You gotta get in the program if you believe in God that He has a better plan for all of us. I created a group page for Spring 2020, please join in if you like. Thank you. If you guys have any questions, feel free to contact me. I love helping all to get into the journey.

HEY everyone,

I started this thread back in May when I got rejected in April and by some miracle my application was re-evaluated and I got accepted in June of 2019. The rejection letter stated that I was still being considered and second rounds of letters will occur in June if I am chosen or someone gives up their seat. I just finished my orientation and I just happen to see letters for the spring of 2020 program being sent out, when I stopped by to hand in my classes to complete before my last semester in the program, but they were in the rejection envelopes that I got in April, it looks like letters will be out soon to you all soon.

If you are denied, hold tight And do not lose hope , if someone gives up their seat , you can still get in for the Spring like I did for the Fall . Also Plan, plan ahead, I had to quit my job due to clinicals, skills lab and simulation. The first week is a lot already but everyone feels like family. Make sure you guys are on top of your immunization, I would recommend getting passport photo done now at Walgreens or CVS to confirm your seat, and get a titer for Hepatis B vaccine, and your TB done.

Good luck everyone's, sending blessing your way .

Everything and anything is possible I feel you believe ❤️

@Jennychi24 Hey! Silly question, but what is the passport photo used for?

The same thing happened to me . I didn’t get in for fall but I got in this spring and my commute is crazy. Do we get to choose what campus we go to?

@Jessica16 No, the nursing campus is only held at the Clarkson Campus and yeah I live 35-40 minutes away, so just plan ahead, you will be fine

@smile it is used to confirm your seat, so that they know it is you.

Hi just wondering if anyone who had heard anything about the second round of letters coming out. I know they said by November but I'm still checking my box everyday ?

@Tonisha90 don't expect to see any letters from second rounds until the end of October or first week of November, when I got denied in April, I didn't get a letter from second rounds until June 1st but I was officially accepted May 29th , just letting you know so you can ease your anxiety down.

I didn't even worry about second rounds, I was expecting to get in for the spring and accepted my denial until I was mind-blown by how the second rounds actually existed

Hey guys. With who didn't get in, don't lose your hope. I received email about all needed information for Spring semester. Only 52 people's emails were sent. I guess 8 more slots need to be filled. ???

What email. I got accepted but I haven’t gotten the information email
