Just wondering if anyone knows if getting accepted to GHC is still based on the application worksheet. I just sent in my application but they no longer require the app. worksheet. Does anyone know if they still use the totals on the worksheet or do they do it differently? Also, does anyone know if they have ever taken anyone who has a C? Or, what about the minimum GPA? Thanks for any info about GHC.

Do or Do Not, Thanks for keeping us posted. I am curious as to the final tally of applicants for the fall program. I wonder if they would be willing to surrender that number to you.

Have ya'll thought about the January program as well just in case? I also heard that Chatahoochee was starting the ADN program in January too.

Thanks, that one of the program's that I applied to. Deadline already passed for applications to the new program at Chattahoochee. I also applied to KSU. I've attended KSU before and it's also a wonderful school. I am just preferring an ADN program to get in the game and then I can convert to a BSN later.:thankya:

I went and talked to Barbara today over at the GHC nursing office. Like I promised, I withdrew my app and got some extra feedback from her about the Fall 09 class. They haven't looked at any apps yet b/c they're still waiting on Sp. semester grades to come in before they start getting to the nitty gritty. So whoever told you that competition this year is fierce, is spouting out a big stinkin' fly-infested pile of horse poop. There are approximately 115 spots open for Fall 09 over at Rome campus and other 25-35 over at the Marietta campus....roughly 150 spots total. They received 300-400 apps, so just doing raw math your chances of getting in are roughly 40-50%. BUT, there are always students who are ineligible or who (liike me) decide to attend another school. Those right there jump your odds above 50%!

Oh yeah, and they'll be mailing out letters at teh end of June. That, to me, seems like Chinese water torture. But hey, there's no better excuse for a smashingly good July 4 party, right? :)

You're too funny! Thanks for getting back w/us. It's kind of irritating that the app deadline was April 1st and they haven't even begun the evaluation process.:tku:

Thanks Do or Do Not! That was too funny. :yeah: I like it when I find out people have spouted off horse poop when it's in my favor.

I agree that it is very frustrating that they will not be sending out letters until that late. That only gives the ones who actually get in about a month to prepare before Fall classes start. That's a month to make plans for other employment if needed, child care, scholarships, to get all of the money up for the books......

I really really hope that they intend to send out the letters much sooner than June. Hopefully they are just telling people that they won't be sending them out until June so that they won't receive as many phone calls from anxious students like us who are impatient and anxious. haha But then again, maybe not because if they are waiting on Spring grades to be posted that won't happen until the 2nd week of May. (Spring classes end next week.) So, if it takes them a couple of weeks after grades are posted to make the decisions, I guess it will be close to June.

Ggggrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!! :hdvwl:

The Dental Hygiene program at GHC is much more efficient at this acceptance process. They had their letters within about a week or so of the deadline date. I sit beside a girl in class that showed me her acceptance letter for the Dental Hygiene program this morning, and she was accepted contingent on her completing and passing the two classes she is currently taking. (I don't know why the nursing department can't do that.)

I agree. It's not enough notice. The weird thing is that I was mailed an orientation schedule for Fall. They are going to transpire before I even find out if I am in the nursing program and it's five hours!:smackingf

I am confused b/c the worksheet says to score an A as 3 points. But then it goes on to say if you have an A in Bio 2121K and have not taken the other sciences your total points equal 4. So should we give A's 4 points or 3?!

Yeah, I see what you are saying. I took another look. To be honest, I don't know what's going on with the calculations and the worksheets. All I know is that I am scared! I can't take this waiting much longer. According to what they are saying now the committee is reviewing us and making their decisions next week and the letters go out after that. I am excited and worried at the same time .:D

Does anyone know what score GHC gives applicants with a previous bachelors degree for the SAT section if you want to use your degree? Is it 20% of 1000 or 20% of 1100. Thanks.

It's 1000 pts for a bachelors degree and that is worth 20 % of your admission score.
