Just wondering if anyone knows if getting accepted to GHC is still based on the application worksheet. I just sent in my application but they no longer require the app. worksheet. Does anyone know if they still use the totals on the worksheet or do they do it differently? Also, does anyone know if they have ever taken anyone who has a C? Or, what about the minimum GPA? Thanks for any info about GHC.
ROFL.... Dallas, I love that little impatient icon! I bet that is exactly what I look like.
A lady in my morning class told me today that she had gone to the nursing department yesterday. They told her that the reason they are waiting so long this year to send out the acceptance letters is because this is the first time in the past 10 years that they are acutally having a hard time deciding who to let in. Apparently because of the economy there were a lot more that applied than usual, and of the ones who did apply, there were so many more than usual with good grades. There weren't as many people applying this time that had taken the Biologies over again because of low grades the first time.
Soooooo......just when I had convinced myself that I had nothing to worry about......she RAINED on my party.
It's a good thing that I don't like alcohol....because at this point I would probably be an alcoholic. The stress of the suspense is absolutely driving me insane.
Surely they will not make us wait until June to get the letters.....surely they would not do that to us.
Hmm, that would make sense given the current climate. Bad economy means a bunch more ppl go to school than normal.
Since I have a Clin. Calc final over at Heritage Hall on Monday, I'm gonnna take the opportunity to formally withdraw my app there. I'll see if I can dig up any juicy info for the rest of y'all while I'm at it
We need all the dirt we can get. haha I have talked to a couple of people who applied for the Fall at GHC but haven't taken their Regent's test yet. They are doing it during summer semester. That may actually keep some people from getting in since so many applied. And then I'm sure there are a few more who applied to more than one nursing program.
So.....don't fret yet Dallas! You hang in there with me, because when we get our letters in a few weeks we're gonna celebrate!
HopeForMelissa when I read that yesterday about the increased number of applicants to the program I was really let down. I only applied to one fall program, which was my first mistake and 2 winter 2010 programs that start in January. I really want this Highlands program b/c it's close, compressed and a good fit for me. I am planner and I thought I had everything figured out ,so, now I am presented with a little doubt. I am going to try to not get let down, but at the same time I need to mentally prep myself for the possibility that I won't get everything that I want. I am still hoping and praying that everything falls into place like I've planned and worked for but I need to be prepared for anything to happen to lessen the blow.
HopeForMelissa

Dallasga....I know how you feel. I've worked so hard toward this for so long! I've told everyone around me that I will be throwing one heck of a pity party (alcohol involved....and I don't even like alcohol) if I get a rejection letter. The Dental Hygiene program applicants find out within a week of the deadline date whether or not they get accepted. I wish our wait was that short.
Thankfully, the three people that I have classes with, that were going to apply for nursing if they got rejected from dental hygiene, ALL got in! So, that's three less people that will be applying for nursing that we are competing with.
