Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:
Thanks HopeForMelissa! Guess I missed the boat on the Clinical Calc. I have taken Med Term, but knew nothing about clinical calc. I'm taking Comm (the only non-nursing class I have left) online/independent distance learning from UGA. Guess there 's no time for clinical calc. If accepted, I'll just have to work twice as hard!! Thanks again for your help.
:rcgtku: I read the posts b/w you and Freddygrandmother and freaked myself out. I'm borderline as it is and I thought I had knocked myself out of the running by missing a class on the worksheet. I guess that you could say I am paranoid at this point. Big packet, little packet, I am just ready for a packet!!! :plsebeg:

Don't worry. I am missing a class also(from the worksheet) and still have hope. As long as you have a good number of A's, you'll be ok!! Relax, or you'll never make it to receive your packet.:wink2: We're sooooo close!!! Good luck to you
PS I live off of Mars Hill Rd and Dallas Hwy - maybe we can carpool?????
I signed up for Clinical Calculations in the fall because in the nursing program you have to make a 90 or above on your clinical calculations test. I figured it couldn't hurt.
You are correct. During our Clinical Calculations orientation, we were told that there would be a dosage/calculation test every semester in nursing school. You are required to make a 90% or above on those exams to continue in nursing program. It has been 10 years since I had a math class, so that's why I went ahead and signed up for the class. I figured "better safe than sorry".

Clinical Calculations is one of those 3 classes that they "recommend" that you take, but it is NOT a required pre-requisite class. A lot of people don't take it. (The other two recommended ones are Medical Terminology and Legal Issues in Nursing.) People that I have talked to that took the Clinical Calculations class said that it was helpful to them once they were in the nursing program. I was done with my pre-requisite classes, so I decided to take it over the summer while I wait on the letters to be mailed.
