Hopefully, we are getting close to hearing something. I wanted to start a new thread and see if anyone wanted to play the waiting game for fall ADN Program. We've been waiting since April 1st and it's about time we heard something.:anbd:
I was at the campus yesterday afternoon for my Clinical Calculations orientation with Dr. Rees. After it was over, I stuck my head in the door to the nursing department secretary's office.....she was typing madly on her calculator figuring scores I'm assuming. I asked her if the letters would go out this week or next week and she simply said "the end of June".
I really don't think it will be the end of June. If they are meeting today to go over the applications, then there is really no reason why the letters shouldn't be mailed out by the end of at least next week. Those letters are "form letters" that all they have to do is enter our names and addresses on (which can be pulled in one big swoop and entered by the computer).
I was walking out to my car after orientation with a nice lady who has also applied for the fall, and she said that she had been told that if you get a "big" envelope in the mail, you're in. (I'm assuming that "big" envelope means like a 11 x 13 size.) If you get just a standard letter size envelope, you've probably been rejected or waitlisted.
I'm excited....I CAN'T WAIT! Think positive thoughts....it has to be soon now.
My friend that got in the LPN/RN bridge program also told me to look for the "thick" envelope. She stated that it was thick b/c it had all the information on the nursing program like orientation, etc...If you do not get in, the envelope will be thin b/c all you get is the rejection letter.
hope for Melissa.... is your clin. calc on DVD or can you watch it online. I'm signed up for the web only version, but thinking I might need to change, but I don't want to be tied down to my DVD player so that I can work on stuff when I'm away from home.
Dr. Rees handed out a set of DVD's that have the lectures on them. I haven't tried it, but they might also play in a computer. They didn't say anything in orientation yesterday about anything online (other than our grades being posted on WebCT Vista). Everything is on those DVD's.

mthibaud,
Do you know anything about the Marietta program - how the selection is made, how many do they take, where are their clinicals? Have you heard anything either way about the Marietta program? Thanks for all your previous info. Good luck to you for the spring program!!
