Georgetown U. Accelerated BSN - Spring 2010

Hi Everyone,

I just submitted my application for Georgetown's Accelerated BSN starting Spring 2010 and I just wanted to open a post for anyone else that has applied as well.

Well I'm bummed that I didn't get it, but congrats to those that do. It seems like a really awesome program!

Write a thank you letter to the admissions coordinator. Emphasize that you are willing and ready to be an alternate candidate and will accept a slot if offered on short notice. That is what I did and it resulted in an admission offer to MN State-Mankato. Best wishes!

Hehe, I'm actually from VA, right outside of DC (I work at the NIH). Phoenix for me is the mythical fire bird :)

I won't have to move, but I'm not really looking forward to the commute, so I may buy a parking spot somewhere. Any ideas?

For me, I do not want to bring my car, so I have to rely on the metro - THAT should be interesting!!

Yeah, can't say that I blame you. But Metro isn't TOO bad... most days... or some days...

You could live in Reston and we could carpool!

Just an FYI, I know a couple of people who are in the program right now and they all live in Arlington, VA (not actually in Georgetown). It's very close and all you have to do is cross the bridge and the places in Arlington are cheaper than the ones in Georgetown. I actually have walked across the bridge and it wasn't too bad (I might get a bike though). I just have to find a pet friendly place so I can bring my dog :D I will also probably take my car so that I can use it to get to the WHC for clinicals.

I wonder if WHC will let us park in their garage for clinicals?

I thought I heard one of the girls who came in to the interview (to answer questions and talk about her experience) that the parking at the WHC was free.. I hope I didn't hear wrong!

what about the WHC scholarship? does anyone know when the notification date for that is?
