Georgetown ABSN Fall 2011

Any applicants to the Georgetown ABSN program for Fall 2011 out there? I have been reading old threads from last year and for applicants to Spring 2011, but it would be nice to have a place for Fall 2011 applicants to talk.

From what I read in past threads, the application to the WHC program is sent out any day now and we hear about whether or not we are being interviewed at the end of February.

So who's out there?

When are you all planning to go to Georgetown Experience and the Interview. I'm thinking the sooner the better. I wonder what kind of dress attire is appropriate for Georgetown Experience.

I am doing the March 6th and 7th date. I think they said professional attire, so I was thinking black pants and a dress shirt....

Yea I was thinking something like that for the Georgetown experience, but a skirt suit for the actual interview. Sounds like they will be watching us at both events. I am thinking since i live right here that I may go to the first dates, and get it out of the way.

Yes, I agree with you. From previous posts last year, it seems extremely intense. I live in Atlanta, so I will have to make a trip up there when I am done with classes here. I am very excited to meet everyone. Is Georgetown your first choice? I am also curious what everyones' background are. Are most people new grads or coming back to school.

Hello all,

I know this has come up a bit already, but is anyone else facing having to decide between GW and Georgetown? I'm having a difficult time, as I'm really drawn to both (granted the scholarship plays a HUGE factor). Just curious... =) Good luck to all those writing the essay!

dlrosen--I am debating between GW and GU as well. I wish GW had some kind of accepted student day. I also wish they had more financial aid/scholarships.

Is anyone from Northern Virginia going to the WHC interviews on May 7th?

I am debating between the April 30th and May 7th dates. Leaning more towards May 7th. I live in Arlington.

I'm from northern Va and as of now I am going to the Georgetown Experience on the 29th. I am thinking to just do the interview on the 30th.

@dlrosen: I was also accepted at GW and Georgetown. I have to tell GW by April 29, which is two weeks before I will know about the scholarships (we find out the week of May 9). I'm really leaning towards Georgetown. Mostly because of their track record with the NCLEX and even more mostly because I live in DC and don't want to commute an hour every day. (I did some rough estimates and it would be probably cost me $7000 in gas and tolls for 1.5 years!).

I'll probably let GW know that I'm not going to go there soon! I would like to be able to wait until I have the scholarship, but it isn't worth $275. Hopefully that will free up space for others as well!

Hope this helps anybody who is having the same concerns about GW vs. Georgetown!! They're both great programs, I just think Georgetown will be a better fit for me!

I have a fairly random question that I haven't been able to find anywhere. Does anyone know how many students were accepted or will be in the 2011 cohort? I was just curious as to how many students will be in our class.

Wow! That is less than I thought...I heard that 20 get the WH scholarship, and I think there will be a few that do not apply for it, as a lot of people are out of state.
