George Washington ABSN Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone,

I just submitted a Fall 2017 application for the ABSN program at George Washington University. I thought I'd start a thread so we can share some experiences, pieces of advice, and whatnot.

Hi all! I was just accepted to Fall 2017 as well. Would love to join the FB group for our cohort. My name is Michelle W.

Does anyone know the start date of the semester? Thank you.

August 25 is what they say is the arrival date I think.

Classes start Aug 28 and I heard orientation is Aug 21

I checked out calendar here but I'm sure they'll send it to us shortly.

Where is everyone living? I previously lived on the Hill during undergrad but a whole house might be more practical.

I believe you posted the Georgetown not GWU calendar lol. I'm looking in Ashburn since it's cheaper

Hi everyone!

I received my acceptance for Fall 2017 cohort this morning! I am so excited to meet you all.

I will be relocating from Hawaii and wondering if any one has any advice on the best places to live? I read through the thread and noticed Ashburn seems to be a favorite? has anyone lived or visited Reston or Fairfax? I have never been or lived in the area so any advice would be greatly appreciated! I would have loved to live in DC or maybe somewhere in between Ashburn and DC but from previous posts, it seems like the commute would be too long everyday.

Good luck to anyone still waiting for a decision!

I just got my acceptance letter and added you guys. My name is Hannah .

Hi AJ, I live in the area and would recommend Ashburn as well because it's closer and cheaper than anywhere more East towards DC (like Reston). Yes, Reston is a nice area and has the metro but I think we will be so busy with the program and studying that we won't have a lot of free time. So instead of taking extra time out of each day for the extra commute, save it for when you have more time and then drive out to Reston/DC/elsewhere. But that's just my opinion. Plus, the Ashburn area is very nice. Lots of restaurants and shops, malls, gyms, golf, bike trails, parks, really everything all close by. At one of the info sessions, they said that some landlords around campus will sign 15 month contracts with tenants too (specifically for us in the program :) )

Just got accepted. I submitted my application on Feb 15th. Acceptances are still being sent out. Best of luck everyone (:

Hi everyone, my name is Jess and I just got accepted! I applied Feb 7th to both the summer and fall programs. I will be deferring my summer acceptance to the fall program since I still have to complete my Nutrition prerequisite over the summer. So excited to meet everyone, and good luck to those still waiting to hear back!

I just requested to join the group! Just received my acceptance yesterday! My Facebook name is Julia Katherine.
