George Washington ABSN Fall 2017
The VBSN and ABSN programs have different names during applications to accommodate students of different backgrounds. But once you get into the program, it is one and the same. Applicants from both programs are mixed into the same cohort and take the same classes together.

Snanda- GWU takes about 3 weeks to get a final decision after you get the preliminary review email. So it shouldn't be too much longer for you to hear back.

George Washington ABSN Fall 2017
Hi AJ, I live in the area and would recommend Ashburn as well because it's closer and cheaper than anywhere more East towards DC (like Reston). Yes, Reston is a nice area and has the metro but I think we will be so busy with the program and studying that we won't have a lot of free time. So instead of taking extra time out of each day for the extra commute, save it for when you have more time and then drive out to Reston/DC/elsewhere. But that's just my opinion. Plus, the Ashburn area is very nice. Lots of restaurants and shops, malls, gyms, golf, bike trails, parks, really everything all close by. At one of the info sessions, they said that some landlords around campus will sign 15 month contracts with tenants too (specifically for us in the program :) )

George Washington University ABSN Summer 2017
After I received the first email about a preliminary review and having all of my materials completed, it took about 3-4 weeks to get an acceptance email. Since GW is still waiting to hear back from students on whether or not they accept, you still have a chance! Wishing you the best!

George Washington University ABSN Summer 2017
Hi Everyone, I noticed that threads have already been created for GW's ABSN spring and fall 2017 cohorts, but none for the summer 2017 cohort, so I wanted to create one! Is anyone else interested in the summer session or already admitted? I have accepted GW's invitation for a seat and am anxiously awaiting further information on orientation, registration, etc. Any other fellow or potential fellow classmates out there?

GMU ABSN program 2017 applicants
Hi Hope! I will also be applying to Mason for the Fall 2017 program. I took the HESI yesterday and considering I just studied 6hrs the day before the exam, I was pretty happy with my 89%. Although, I really wish I had put more time into it to get a higher score. Have you taken the HESI exam yet? If not, I wish you the best of luck! I was seriously laughing when I was being prepped at the test center. They have security checks just like the airport! Crazy! I am in a somewhat similar situation as you being a mom with kids. I have twin 2 year olds and a pretty good support system with my family living in the area. I have a B.A. in International Studies (3.2 GPA) and do not have any sort of medical background. I have two B's in the nursing pre-reqs and A's in the rest. I have finished all of the pre-req's for Mason but am taking extra for back-up universities.
