Hey guys! How are all of you? I just can't seem to get enough of this site!!! I love it! :D

Ok, here's my post for the night:

What are some really good nursing websites? I want to know about sites from nursing humor to study guides for tests.

Please post ANY and ALL websites you can think of. I am hoping to get a head start on nursing school by trying to get into the "groove" and beginning to understand the terminology.

Some of the websites I've been to and liked were:

1. ALLNURSES!!:D

2. www.rncentral.com

3. www.cheap-scrubs.com

4. www.cybernurse.com

Ok, feel free to add yours here. I really hope to have a lot before the summer so I can kind of "jumpstart" nursing school. Thanks again!!:D

when you have to, and your instructors have given you no other guidance on how to manage your group and the group project, here's some links that some thoughtful educators put together to help students get through these assignments. . .yes, there is a reason you are having to do them.

http://www.csc.calpoly.edu/~sludi/semanual/tableofcontents.html - student survival guide to managing group projects. click on the links to get into the text.

http://lowery.tamu.edu/teaming/morgan1/tsld001.htm - use of teams in classes. a slide show presentation on teamwork, how to create teams and how to work on team projects.

http://www.usq.edu.au/course/material/mkt2001/teamwork.htm - teamwork. site specifically for students to help you in working together in a team.

http://www.academictutorials.com/teamwork/ - team tutorial

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/cog%27s_ladder - cog's ladder. the five steps necessary for a group of people to work together efficiently.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/forming-storming-norming-performing - tuckman's stages of team development: forming, storming, norming and performing.

http://apu.gcal.ac.uk/ciced/ch33.html - working as part of an academic team. a bit scholarly and probably written more for instructors, buy, hey! might as well get some insight as to what their thinking process is, don't you think?

if you want more information about teams and teamwork, one of the books that is considered to be a standard reference on this subject can probably be found in most libraries: the team handbook, peter r. scholtes, brian l. joiner, barbara j. streibel. team approach to accomplishing work projects is a common method employed by a large number of industries.

This site has tons of nurse and nurse student (scroll down on the left) blogs that are GREAT! It's my favorite so far...

I wish I had found allnurses.com and this thread at the beginning of my nursing school experience. Many of these links would have come handy!!! Good luck to you, current and future nursing students!

This thread just saved my butt on a careplan! Thanks, guys! :yelclap:
