No she did not...blurt out to the (male) doctor when watching an infant circumcision, "That's the first uncircumcized male I've ever seen!"

Yes, that was me. I felt like such an idiot. I'm sure that was far more information about my personal life than the doctor ever wanted to know.

I would dug myself a hole in the floor. Thanks for the laugh. I truly needed it today.

During a pharmacology class discussing injection sites, tell a classmate a neat way to remember dorsal meant back. "You know, like the dorsal fin on a penguin." Yes that was me and I have no clue where MY mind was that day. She stared at me blankly and then busted up laughing. She knew I meant porpoise but she said she will never, ever forget what dorsal means. We still ask each other some times "Hey you know where your dorsal area is?"

No she did not put the toe tag on a patients hand.

Saw a tech do this at a hospital and could not believe it.

No she did not just pop the versed & fentanyl syringes she just finished pushing IV into the pocket of her lead vest (Cath Lab) to quickly get the MD some equipment he needed NOW! Then bend over to retrive it from the bottom shelf and almost inject her left breast with enough meds for vent time - ah yes me!

She did not put the proceedural sterile drape on the pt. reversed with the foot portion at head - even with the picture of a person showing where the head was supposed to go and an arrow pointed to the top - both of these printed in a large size black ink, right on the drape to give you the BIG HINT on which way to place it. Okay, as a minor excuse the only difference in this rectanglar drape is there is a clear plastic panel on the right lower side so the docs can see the table controls. You cannot see the clear panel until the drape is fully open .... Oh!! So that is why you check out the nice little figure and the arrow before you stick the huge fenestrated drape's circle of tape to the patient"s (thankfully) shaved right groin. Yes the brainless wonder again ......

no she did not describe the purulent drainage as "*****" in her nursing notes.... :chuckle

omg, i did this my first quarter. i also described the colostomy contents as "mushy with corn."

thank goodness it was my 2nd week as a ns and had a hilarious instructor!

No he did not just waste half of our lecture time arguing with the class that a high pH means acidic....

:uhoh3:

No she did not...

-leave a MRSA contaminated room and put her contaminated scissors on the table in the meeting room.

-offer a blind patient a newspaper
