My school did use it...so I used it with the LPN stuff...it was not too bad! Our school has gotten rid of it as they felt it was not user friendly and did not produce the results they were looking for....I am not sure if that had anything to do with NCLEX scores or just the way the admin felt about the material!!
Our school requires us to use MEDSPUB, and we pay to use it for our entire stint of school. This is my first semester of NS and I feel like it really helps put you in a critical thinking state of mind---which is what being an RN is all about.
A lot of previous NS have said it greatly improved their scores on school tests and helped for the NCLEX.
Our school uses MedsPub for all kinds of stuff. In the first five semesters we used it for various topics and now in the final semester we use it for those plus the NCLEX review. We are required to take and pass certain tests and for the NCLEX thing we have to do 24 hours of it.
That being said, our school has a very high pass rate on NCLEX but they also suggest using the Kaplan review too so I'm not sure if the medspub is the whole reason for the pass rate.
I have heard that it is useful in preparing for the NCLEX. I've heard it mostly from faculty.
Has anyone out there used MEDS publishing study aids, particularly the NCLEX RN-Gold Software? I'm trying to decide if it's worth the money.
I used it for both my LPN and RN boards and was very pleased with it both times. It covered a lot of material with a lot of questions.
I would recommend it to anyone over any other software or other NCLEX review stuff I've used in the past. Definitely worth the money without a doubt.
I have no way of knowing whether or not it helped me pass but going through all of their questions boosted my confidence if nothing else and I passed both LPN and RN boards the first time around with the minimum question shut-off.
