How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

Hi to everyone-

I am currently enrolled in an ADN program.

I just finished Nursing I and am starting Clinical I this January 06. All my prereq's are finished :rotfl: .YIPPY! I am looking forward to starting the clinical phase and facing the challenge that awaits ahead.

This will be my adventure into changing careers, as my first degree is a BA in Major-Sociology/Minor-Psychology and I ended up in the corporate world becoming a manager in Telecom for the last 12 years. I am looking forward to having a career that impacts and helps others.

Good luck to all the other Nursing students.

Specializes in PeriOp, ICU, PICU, NICU.

Hi my name is Brian, I've been admitted to the University of Louisville (Go Cards! :D) in January for pre-reqs and will start the accelerated Second Degree nursing program in May 07, done August 08. Shew! I was thinking it was nuts to be starting a new career at 40, but after poking around here a bit I see that ain't nuthin! You guys who are like... uh... fifty? You're NUTS!

This is my second degree, my first being a BA in Fine Art/Graphic Design. I've been working in design for about sixteen years and needed a change and decided to go ahead and take the leap into what people have been telling me for years I should be doing.

Special thanks to D for the very supportive and loving encouragement to go for it! :D You da most!

Hey, thought I was the oldest!! You got me beat by one year. Starting pre-reqs in january, clinicals (hopefully) 2007.

Hi everyone my names Mandy (as you have probably guessed) and I am a first year Diploma student at Wolverhampton uni (UK). I stumbled across this site whilst searching for something else and think it is brilliant, glad to be here.

Hey Guys,

My name is Leah, I live in Chicago, I'm married and have two kids, ages 11 and 5. I am in the last semester of a 2 year associates program, due to graduate 6/06. I went back to school when I was 25, to start my pre req's. Nursing school is the best thing I've ever done for myself, any anxious 1st year's feel free to write, I'm an ex-nervous Nelly myself!

I am a new student also, Paula from NM age 42 with 2 children (7 and 18) and a grandchild on the way. Came upon nursing in an accidental way but happy to be here. Hello all!
