  1. My school also had to take Hesi, and we had to buy the CD and studyguide on our own. In my opinion, if it's mandatory to take a ceartain test for your school-the school should provide the study materials, especially for Hesi. I would ask your nursing chairperson if they could provide you with a studyguide.
  2. I have got a HUGE problem, I have to take an exit exam(HESI) to graduate, I took it last week and failed-the problem- management and delegation, mainly delegation questions, had I gotten them right I would've passed. I have a pile of books on the subject, but feel that I'm still not getting the BIG picture. I know that it varies state by state, I have memorized the general rules of what can and cant be delegated, but when I look at the options for the questions I draw a blank. Do I look at the disease or the person the task is being delegated to? when the 4 options include different staff members, and different dieases, what should I focus on? The answers never include something that can be ruled out easily, like blood administration or patient teaching. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I am a student in need of a nursing research article, which I will have to critique. It must be current, include actual research, and have something to do with improving patient care using a new technique. Everytime I find something good, theres usually a charge, anyone know of a good free site, or perhaps an article itself? Thanks
  4. Thanks so much, I'll use your suggestions.
  5. Hi everyone, I am a nursing student due to graduate in May. I am now in the psych rotation and am having a really hard time, especially with the nursing diagnoses. My real problem is, I have to give a presentation to the patients on setting goals, just goals in general- med compliance, staying healthy, etc. Does anyone have any good Ideas on how I should go about this? I already have some patient goal setting sheets and certificates of participation printed up, but I saw a presentation last week, and the poor student had such a hard time getting the patients to participate. Any Ideas on props,posters...., our professor is known as " Ursula the sea Witch", so you can see why I'm freaking out!
  6. This post is late, but I just joined- if you're still looking -Richard J Daley college on the southside is a community college that allows LPN's to bridge in over only one summer course. So in the fall you would start the 2nd year of a 2 year associates program, you may also be asked to do some demonstrations. Tuition is very reasonable. The LPN's that I know have adjusted just fine. http://faculty.ccc.edu/colleges/daley/nursing/index.htm
