How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.
I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.
Care to share?
Hi all nurses. (no pun intended) My name is Tom and I'm starting an ADN program next month. At 48, I'm semi-retired and wanted to do something that might do some good in the world instead of just being selfish. Now that I have enough dead presidents to take care of myself, I can concentrate on something useful. I'm looking forward to going to school, but not looking forward to having to attempt to readjust some bad attitudes if I'm being treated badly by other staff or admin., as quite a few folks on this forum have mentioned...maybe I'll end up as an organizer with the nurses union or something, if I graduate and pass the NCLEX...one day at a time . This is a great site, and I've already found a lot of inspiration here. Peace.
Hello guys. I'm a 1st year nursing student from the Netherlands.
I started nursing school in september. I'm studying nursing at level 5, I don't know it's US equivalent but here in the Netherlands, level 5 is the highest level of nursing education.
I went to nursing school straight from high school and I've absolutely loved the last two months. I certainly made the right choice.
I'm 18 years old and I live in Leiden. Apart from going to nursing school I also went to live on my own. Found a nice room here in Leiden and have had the time of my life ever since.
Bye, Michiel Messink
Hi everyone I'm Arienne, 20 y/o, finishing up my first semester of nursing school and pharmacology class. Finals are next week and I am so nervous. We have a snow day today on the last day of classes so we really didn't get to review. So far I love this sight. There ae so many funny stories and helpful hints. Hope to reply to more threads and maybe post some of my own.
Hello everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I am from Lansing, Michigan and have 2 kids and a wonderful husband. I got accepted into the nursing program twice and had to decline because of medical problems. I am good now, and plan to apply in May of 2006. Hope to start the program in Sept. Off the topic: how do I hyperlink websites to share with other members. I am not good with computers! Thanks in advance.
Michelle
Hello,
My name is Blair, I have been accepted to a BSN program starting next semester. I am 32, work full time at Verizon, and have a wife and daughter. Spent five years in the Navy as a Corpsman, Search and Rescue Medical Technician, and EMT-B. Needless to say I am nervous as heck, but this forum looks great. Nice to meet everyone!
Hi my name is Brian, I've been admitted to the University of Louisville (Go Cards! ) in January for pre-reqs and will start the accelerated Second Degree nursing program in May 07, done August 08. Shew! I was thinking it was nuts to be starting a new career at 40, but after poking around here a bit I see that ain't nuthin! You guys who are like... uh... fifty? You're NUTS!
This is my second degree, my first being a BA in Fine Art/Graphic Design. I've been working in design for about sixteen years and needed a change and decided to go ahead and take the leap into what people have been telling me for years I should be doing.
Special thanks to D for the very supportive and loving encouragement to go for it! You da most!
