Hi everyone! I have been a lurker here & posted a reply here and there, but I want to introduce myself.
My name is Yvonne 23 married with 2 boys (8yrs & 3months). I just started my first year in college and I want to work in Labor & Delivery. I have always wanted to be a nurse, but I always had an excuse not to go to school. I am beyond that point in my life and want to fulfill my dreams.
I am currently taking Math, English, Speech and Anthropology. I am eager to begin the "real nursing education!" I look forward to getting to know everyone better and talk about school.
BTW my English teacher is 26 years old....I can't get over that!

Hello there!
I'm in a similar situation to you. I'm 19, married, with an 11 month old girl and a 2 1/2 year old boy. Congrats on making the decision to go to college! I noticed that you were a teen mom. How awesome of you to help kick the stereotypes in the jaw and show people that younger moms can suceed in life and follow their dreams just like everyone else.
I too would like to someday work in Labor and Delivery, and if my grades are god enough, I'd like to continue and get my Master's Degree and become a midwife. Glad you joined the site! I think you'll find that the people here are very supportive and friendly. you'll fit right in.

Swiftee,
Thanks for the reply. We are in a similiar situation. So are you a nurse already or working towards that?
Everyone does seem VERY nice here and I plan to post more often.
