well, i've finally decided that i must be involved in surgery in some capacity. i love everything about it. pre-op, intra-op (although i must admit that anesthesia is the big selling point here), and post-op.
just finished up this week's clinicals there and it's a no brainer. i want to go to a job that intrigues me, that i'm excited about getting out of bed for. i think that surgery is it for me.
so what about everyone else? has anything clicked for you so far?
anyone that wanted to do a speciality and then decided different after experiencing the clinical with school?
Well... I originally thought I wanted Labor and Delivery.. But as someone said everyone seems to want that.... As of now I am leading towards anything Pediatrics (Ortho, Oncology, ICU) as long as it is with children..
I am like everyone else, couldn't do LTC.... I would burn out soooooo quickly..

Rena,
I also love OR!! We studied periop in depth in 2nd quarter and then I observed in 3rd quarter. I loved that you only have ONE patient at a time! hehe I also like the whole environment. I mean it is nothing like floor nursing, but it's still nursing and exciting!!
Zach (seriously considering OR upon graduation but we'll see)
