Hi all! I love it here, just to let you know :redpinkhe. I am (hopefully) going to be starting LVN program in January (6 months YIPPEE!!) After a year of really hard work on prereqs and everything that goes along with applying! I have two school choices: Tyler County Hospital, Woodville Texas and Angelina College, Lufkin Texas. I would love to meet new friends that will be attending the same timeframe and program as me! I am sure most of us are nearing the "waiting" period for finding out if we made it in or not! Lets go through this stress together! My name is Beth by the way, four children, two boys, two girls, and one husband:yeah:all of which are happy that I am going to school. My husband just started his prereqs this summer to start LVN in January 2011! He wants to go for surgical nursing, I want to be right up in L&D since I kinda know a little about birthing babies:uhoh3:! Hope to meet some new friends!

Congratulations! I recieved my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday, and literally had to sit down on a park bench before heading back home :coollook:

What school are you going to attend?

Hey Avid, Have you heard anything yet from Angelina College? I think it's supposed to be this month. I am getting more nervous the closer it gets. Again, Good luck!!

got my acceptance letter today from AC, how about you ? I already did the background check right away so I am all set, we go in on november 12th for orientation

CONGRATS, I actually got my acceptance letter today also!! I am excited about it! I have to go online to do the background check and yes, we will goto the orientation on Nov. 12th. That's awesome that we both got into the program. Did you decide if you are doing this one or the one in Woodville? I am guessing that you chose this one because you already did the background check. Again, CONGRATS and I will see ya on the 12th!!

yeah I decided to go through AC as I already have a full pell grant which will pay for it. I am excited too, the only thing is I heard we dont do as much hands on through AC as they do through tyler county, do you think thats true?

I'm not too sure about the hands on part. My wife went through their RN program a fews years ago and said there was alot of hands on but she doesn't know about the LVN track.

I was wondering... I'm currently a student a Kirkwood Community College @ Cedar Rapids, IA and almost done with my pre-reqs for the nursing program. Do you mind if I ask what you got on your TEAS?? I'm worried that I didn't score high enough to get into the program Fall 2010. Thanks.

I too am going next year to UT Tyler BSN Program Spring 2010. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I have been applying to many schools such as UTMB, UT houston, TWU Houston 2x, and HBU, got rejected, and this time I finally got accepted at UT Tyler. All I have to do is my CPR class which is on Dec 11th and Im good to go for Jan 11th , 2010 to be exact. My advice to everyone, if nursing is where your heart is, never give up on it, keep applying to as many schools as you can. Getting a "rejection letter" sux, but it lets you crave nursing even more, but getting an "acceptance letter" is one of the best feelings you can ever get in your life. Perseverance and patience does pay off. Keep going for it future nurses, and good luck to everyone next semester...
