  1. I am also starting 2/1/16 and the facebook page is WGU RN to BSN Discussion Group. They will want your start date and school email to accept you into the group. So far it seems like a very helpful group. Good luck to everyone starting!!
  2. I graduated earlier this month from their LVN program. If you got any questions about getting into the program just let me know. There aren't any pre-req's needed. You just have to take the Hesi entrance exam and score high enough to be in the top 30. You only test on the math and reading part of the hesi. It's not that bad. They actually have a study book for sale in the book store if your worried. The LVN program was tough but I worked full time while doing it and made A's and B's throughout the program. I am also married with 2 kids, so if I can do it anyone can. It just takes dedication and determination!! Good luck and feel free to ask me anything you need to know about the program.
  3. I am in my first semester in our LVN program and I work 40hrs a week. We goto school monday and tuesday from 0830-1530 and now we have clinicals on wednesday and thursday 0530-1500. Friday's off. I work on Thursday and friday from 2000-0400. I also work Sat and Sun 1600-0400. It's tough but do-able. I think it just depends on your determination.I AM DETERMINED!! Good luck!!
  4. I'm not too sure about the hands on part. My wife went through their RN program a fews years ago and said there was alot of hands on but she doesn't know about the LVN track.
  5. CONGRATS, I actually got my acceptance letter today also!! I am excited about it! I have to go online to do the background check and yes, we will goto the orientation on Nov. 12th. That's awesome that we both got into the program. Did you decide if you are doing this one or the one in Woodville? I am guessing that you chose this one because you already did the background check. Again, CONGRATS and I will see ya on the 12th!!
  6. Hey Avid, Have you heard anything yet from Angelina College? I think it's supposed to be this month. I am getting more nervous the closer it gets. Again, Good luck!!
  7. I don't really understand this response. I really am concerned about getting into my program. I know my Hesi scores are good, but as competitive as the nursing programs are and them only accepting 40 out of over 200 students makes me question if my score is good enough for the program. There are a LOT of really smart people out there and I am just hoping to get in.
  8. WOW, sounds like you guys have had some ups and downs. Well, One thing I can tell you is that you might try talking to some local hospitals about paying for your tuition and books and then you agree to work there for X amount of time. That's what I am doing. The local hospital will pay me $1000.00 a semester and in turn I have to work 6 mths with them for every $1000 they pay. Not too bad considering that covers almost all of my tuition for the 3 semesters all I have to do is pay for my books which isn't cheap, but my school doesn't do stafford loans. Just a thought to help out with expenses, even if you have financial aid. Hope this helps!
  9. Well, hopefully we both make it in Jan! Good luck and looking forward to seeing ya there!! We might be the only two guys there, LOL.
  10. Angelina College is where I hope to be starting in Jan 2010. It's the LVN program. It's a one year program. Good luck to you and if you need any help just give me a shout.
  11. I got a 94.6% overall. They showed the grade at the end of the test for us when we finished each section and at the end. I got a 98% in math and 91.3% in reading. I hope it's enough to get in!!
  12. Well, not too bad. I scored a 94.6% overall. I studied the Evolve book and it helped! I only had to take the Math and Reading parts for the LVN program at my school. Math I got a 98% and in the Reading section, got a 91.3. My school takes the top 40 scores and accepts those students. Do you guys think I will have a chance? I won't find out till Oct if I am accepted or not, but now I am kinda nervous.
  13. Hello, avidhunter, are you going to AC for the LVN program or RN program?? I just finished my HESI test for the LVN program starting in Jan 2010. They said we won't know anything about acceptance until Oct. I wasn't sure if you were going for the same thing as me or the RN.
  14. Hello, I am (hopefully) going to start the LVN program in the Spring 2010. I just finished taking the HESI A2 test and if it's anything similar to what is on the accuplacer then it's general math. Nothing too bad, study up on fractions, ratios, conversions, and roman numerals. Like I said, I don't know if it's like the HESI, but you do have to take the HESI to get into the nursing program. Good luck with everything!!
  15. Hello, My name is David. I am trying to get into the LVN Program at Angelina College that starts in Jan 2010. If I don't make it then I will be trying for the RN program in the fall of 2010. Good to know I am not the only guy trying for nursing in this neck of the woods.
