  1. Hi, My wife is in the AC LVn program and she loves it!!! She actually got accepted into both AC and TC but chose to go to AC.. The program is ranked in the top ten in the state of Texas. My sister in law went TC Woodville. I think in the long run you'll find going to AC is better because you a get a more in depth view from both aspects of vocational and academic. Plus when you finish you can transition right into their RN program and not have to work a year like you woSpuld if you went to TC Woodville. Also since it is a Hospital ran program most community colleges or Universities would rather you have work experience first before you apply to their RN or BSN programs. You do get alot of hands on in TC being that you are in the hospital setting but AC's clinicals also gives you a lot of hands experience as well. Most people go to the TC Woodville program because it is easier to get into their program. But to me I would rather go to an accredited college where I know most if not all my credits will transfer and I will be able to transition in a RN program without taking a break from school and have to work a year prior to continuing my education. I am also a Nursing student/major I have all my pre-reqs done for the RN progam but since my wife is in the LVN program I have to wait until she finishes before I can go into the program this is due to financial issues being that one of us has to still work we can not afford for both of us to not work . So I applied for the LVN program for January 2011 at AC and if I don't get in I am currently working on my pre-reqs for the BSN program at SFASU. Good Luck on whichever program you chose to go to.
  2. Hello, thanks again for your insight!!! Also thanks for serving our country!! It's awesome people like you that allow us to have our freedoms today and live our lives with many choices and opportunities. I agree with you about that it's not a battle of who is better LVN....RN...Etc.. All I know is it's becoming more and more competetive to get in the nursing program. Shoot in one of my classes there are 20 of us who nursing majors. That is just in one class. Hopefully I can get my RN and work as an RN while I am working on my BSN!!! It's all in God's hands for me and my wife so I am not worried about it!!!
  3. Thanks for your insight on this matter!!! It's people like you that have the experience helps us who are just starting this profession!! I think ultimately future nursing students will have to get their BSN in order to be in the nursing profession. I don't know how soon that will be. Hopefully my wife and I will have our BSN'S before then!!! I think people that strive for excellence and continue to learn new things daily about their job make excellent professionals!!!
  4. Cool, I'm trying to get in the RN program at Angelina College!!! Nice to meet you!!!

  6. I was told this is completely normal lol. I asked my nursing instructors about anxiety and why I would be so scared now that I am about to start the actual program versus the prereqs. She told me that it would be more weird to NOT be scared. I worry about such things as being in clinicals with the DR in ER and him getting mad because I dont know what I am doing. I KNOW how mean some of them can be because I answer calls for them all the time as the emergency operator at my hospital. I know which ones are nice and which ones arent, and I feel scared to death about having to work with the ones that I know are *sses! Oh well, this too shall pass, and before you know it you will be done and looking back thinking to yourself how you are so glad its over! You might even come out of it with some advice to offer to newly scared students
  7. We all know LVNS/LPNS don't make as much as RNS. I beg to differ with you, why is it that there are always ads for hiring LVNS/LPNS. In my area doctor's offices would prefer to hire LVNS because they don't have to pay them as much as RNS. Besides my wife is going on to get her RN and BSN she just is getting her LVN first!!!!!!
  8. Hello, I am Ray a pre-nursing student in Texas trying to get in the RN program in the Fall 2010. Is there any guys out there that are in the same boat I'm in it would be nice to talk to some of you!!!
  9. Well, hello honey!!! For all of you that don't know me I am Ray, Beth's husband!!! I am currently working on my pre-reqs to apply for the RN program in the Fall 2010.. It's nice having my wife Beth take some of the same classes as I am. Also she is already taken classes that I still have to take, so I can pick her brain for some insight. I hopefully will be in the RN program at Angelina College next fall. If everyone continues to work hard I think evryone will be fine!!! Nice meeting you all and keep up the good work.. To Beth my lovely wife , keep studying hard, I 'll be here to help you in whatever you need. Love Ray!!!!:redbeathe
