Just wondering if any of you guys have started getting any job offers or interviews yet? I graduate from an ADN program on May 8th 2013!!! got a job offer for the CVICU I did my preceptorship on! They don't hire many new grads! I also got an offer for the ED!!!!!

I hope the job search goes well for you guys!!!!

Congratulations! That is awesome.

Congrats!!!

I haven't gotten any job offers, but my classmates who have PCT jobs already did. It's a tough market here in DFW :(

Thanks guys! I worked in the hospital float pool, in one of the places I got an offer (CVICU). As an CNA a year before I started NS and straight out of high school. I still work in that float pool, as I was hired PRN, so I am going on my 3rd year of employment as a CNA with the facility. I live on SE NC, the market is not nearly as bad here as it is other places. Most of my classmates have interviews, about 60% have offers as of now. I hope for the best with you guys!

I have an offer for an ICU position. I believe I am turning it down as I am holding out for L&D/NICU.

Graduation is May 3 and I have a job starting 6/17 on Med/Surge...

oh and I'm in NE PA - and the jobs here are pretty plentiful if you don't mind starting in med surge

I would be nervous about turning down a job. L&D is a very tough area for new grads to get into in any economy, especially right now. Many of the skills you will learn in ICU will be very helpful in L&D.

PacMan, which are you going to take, ER or CVICU?

I am still undecided as of now, to see what other offers I get. I applied to 2 other very nice hospitals and won't here from them till the end of this month. I have some time before i have to make a final decision. I think I will do CVICU though.

The job field where I am at isn't near as tight as other areas. ICU definitely wasn't for me so I'm comfortable with my decision. Plenty of medsurg positions open if I don't get the LD position I want :) PatMac-Good luck in your decision!

Thanks Katie! Same to you! I'm glad the job market isn't bad around here too. There are a good amount of openings for new grads, mostly in the spring when graduations are held, whether you be a new grad, ADN, or BSN. I'm thankful for that.

PatMac me too.

I had an interview today that went really well! I expect to receive an offer on Thursday. I also have an interview for L&D tomorrow and am hoping I get it! That's my dream job!

I'm not close to graduating, we just started our 2 years. I graduate November 2014 but I've had 2 job offers so far. One at the place I currently work at as a CCA and the other in a larger center from a nurse I used to work with, when she worked at my facility.
