  1. Hello, Just wanted to let ya'll know Parkland has posted the ER residency for July 2014 if anyone is interested. :)
  2. I graduated in May from El Centro. The program is totally doable!!! All you have to do is study. I made A's in all the semesters by doing just that. Good luck to you!!
  3. 1. Parkland Memorial Hospital Dallas,TX 2.Methodist Hospital Dallas,TX 3.Baylor Hospital Dallas,TX 4.Scott and White Temple,TX
  4. Hi Ladies!!! I finally received my ATT about an hour ago and scheduled it for June 28th.The Dallas campus was limited to only 3 available dates which was the 18th,25th and 28th. Hope ya'll hear back soon!!!
  5. Yay! Did you have many options as far as test dates?
  6. Yes, 15 business days is what they said.
  7. Oh no!!! This is so discouraging. My employer requires us to have our license prior to starting.Luckily, I was told that my start date was pushed back two weeks. According to the TBON "15th day response" you should have it by tomorrow. Please keep me updated!
  8. I'm doing Hurst and Kaplan. (I won a free 30 day online review with Hurst) I'm starting to get discouraged too.I feel the longer I wait to test the less confident I become.
  9. Yes,I am an El Centro graduate.I'm still anxiously waiting for my ATT .
  10. 1. What type of program are you in? ADN-RN 2. What is your current age? 23 3. What is your current GPA? 3.49
  11. Hi Bethany, When do they post listings for the September start? There are quite a few openings listed still but it sounds as if most of the July positions have been filled (gathered through reading every.single parkland thread!). So now I'm wondering if they are for the September Cohort (although I was told by the secretary they wouldn't be up until July) The positions that are currently open are for the July start date from my understanding. If the secretary told you the September residencies will be up in July.I recommend you start checking the Parkland website July 1st for the job postings.DO NOT BE SURPRISED IF THEY DO NOT POST THEM IMMEDIATELY. I was told the ER residency was not going to be posted until late March/first of April and they didn't post until mid April:banghead:. What do all the listings mean?? Example: 7N hospitalist, 7 South Hospitalist, 10W Medicine etc This is the floor number, position, and what type of floor it is.For example, 7 is for the seventh floor ,N is for the north side, and it's a hospitalist floor. Whats the difference between Nurse Residency and Nurse Fellowship? Generally the residencies are for specialties like MICU,ER,SICU,BURN ICU,L&D and, NICU. The fellowship is pertaining to the med/surg floors and requires a two year contract.I can only speak for the ER residency which requires a three year contract, but I'm sure that is the case for the rest of the specialties as well. How competitive is it? I'm concerned because I'll only be graduating with my ADN. Generally, it's pretty competitive like everywhere else.I graduated from an ADN program and got hired in the ER.They held a hiring fair a couple of weeks ago for med/surg and many of my classmates received offers. They only require a BSN for the trauma internship.I believe your tech experience will help you. I hope this helps
  12. Hi guys!!! I wanted to start a thread specifically for people waiting on ATT's in Texas. We graduated May 19th and the BON received our affidavits of graduation May 28th now I'm just waiting on my ATT. For the people who have already received their ATT's ....How long did it take for you to receive it once the BON received your AOG? Thanks in advance!
